What other breeds were they pinning the old English bulldog against to make them say it needs more agility ? From the old descriptions that old English bulldog doesn’t look too far off from A moderen day pit body wise no? It's also stamina the smaller pitbulls have more stamina then the old English bulldog. People still use pitbulls, staffies and bull terriers for bull fighting. There's a video in Spain of a bull terrier on a bull.

Bulls are far slower than dogs.
