I think this is an art piece. It’s very conceptual and can go Sci-fi, Emo? Sixties mod, Glam Rock or Nineties Glam. It’s meant to complete a sketch from another era or to complete another palette. It’s too blue for me but it’s very inspiring and I think it could be endlessly useful to a makeup artist. All that aside, I think you’ve created two very beautiful looks.
I only wear cool tones and can dupe this multiple times over in my collection but I bought it for the different formulas and have been loving it so far. It's what I wanted Glam to be
Yesssss!!!! Thank you for comparing this to Ghost Face! I definitely like the colors of the mattes in Ghost Face better than the light grey mattes in xenon.
You absolutely sold me on this palette and since I have darker skin look number one is a stunning everyday look for me. I will say I made sure to purchase this with a larger discount bc it isn’t worth the full price of the other ND palettes I own imo. Tfs!
I'm so glad you've reviewed this palette because I love your looks and I have similar eye shape as yours and finding nice inspiration is not easy : ) I would love to see more looks please! Have a wonderful day!
I love cool tones looks always loved silver and I do love color. I really had no intention of buying this till I seen your looks! I love blue and I have used my color pop black and silver palette with colors and it usually has a unique look. I can’t wait try with deep blues. Navy blue and I’m thinking the Nomad Ghost towns pair real nice. I just ordered ND today after watching your video. Hope to see influencers make looks this palette with amazing independent brands!!💜🌈💜
If you find yourself needing cool toned mattes, Viseart Cool Mattes and Devinah Cosmetics Eternal Night (the best grayscale color story ever created) are my all time favorites. I never got into the warm tone trend bc they give a sickly cast to my vampire pale skintone, even some neutral shades can pull warm on me, but these palettes contain pretty much every matte shade I need and are the most used palettes in my entirely cool toned collection. What I love most about Eternal Night especially is the variety of tones, ranging from purple to blue to greige and taupe, not just different depths of gray and Devinah's matte white is the best I've ever tried.
I especially enjoy the contrast of the cool tones shadows on your warm undertone skin. Looks dead in a pretty way. This is low key a Halloween vibes as well as New Year’s Eve vibes too. Love the looks and the content!
I used this palette today with my ensleyreign Harvest moon and love it. It is very monochromatic, but the formulas are great. Just like you stated, I will use it with other palettes, which it pairs nicely with other cool toned eyeshadows. I know not everyone will want this, but it is a great addition to my collection.
This is beating a dead horse, but this is becoming the dress of 2015 debate. I bought two palettes and I have them with me and the pinks are PINK. I swear. I am an optician and I can confirm that some people have not been able to interpret the blue and pink shades in this palette. I assure anyone who needs to hear it, to we who can “see” it, the blues and pinks are beautiful. I wore mine yesterday and I woke excited to get ready today and play with it again!
Most of the complaints, of which there aren't a ton, are abt the difference between the brand photos and the actual colors, which are valid. I own this as well (and have perfect vision) and the main ND photo of the palette shows Snowbow as a bright baby pink, when it's actually a pale muted pink with blue shimmer; Neve as pale pink, when it's really an iridescent eggshell topper; and the mattes Snirt and Flurry as midtoned when they're relatively light. Ppl aren't saying the pink or blue shades don't exist or that they can't see them, they're simply tired of receiving products that aren't what they thought they were buying because of inaccurate brand photos...and ND is notorious for this.
I only own one ND pallet and that’s the ND Glam palette. I’ve been holding off on the I Need a Nude pallet and after much debate I, in fact, do not need a Nude. I have many Nude pallets already. But, the other day I saw this pallet at Ulta, I swatched it, and it’s beautiful! I’ve been watching videos of it ever since. I think I will be purchasing it. It does give an 80’s (even though you said 90’s, I’m a little older than you ☺️) vibe. I love it! I will also use it as a compliment to other pallets because those shimmers are gorgeous.
You’ll have to do a video with this palette and also using it My Dream palette. Instead of the light grey mattes, it’s nice with a neutral brown (nurture) or warm brown (carpe diem or Familia). You could do a Wednesday Addams inspired look. I think the makeup artist for Jenna Ortega to get Wednesdays look, used Mac Script, Mac Glitch In The Matrix, and Mac Carbon. We could use Natasha Familia, Cygnus, and either Sposh or Blackest Black. Might be a fun challenge! and then add any other colors you might want…
I'm with you. Just looking at the colors, I don't see a pink shade. I honestly don't think i could pull this palette off. Especially with my coloring. The names are cracking me up. You definitely rock this palette. Both looks are amazing!🤍🖤🩶
There's 2 deep shades that work like mattes. I think the very center cream to powder is a deep gray/black and the one that claims to be a black shimmer, it's a dark matte i didn't notice any shimmer.
Beautiful looks Rachel, thank you! I have this palette and absolutely love it. As soon as I saw it, I was inspired and thinking of so many different looks I'll create with it. Just like any palette/product, I get that it's not for everyone. As a few people have commented on here and other videos, this truly is that 2015 striped dress 😅😅😅. Have a great weekend!!
Omg ace ventura is my favorite favorite!!! The second one, when nature calls, i could watch every day! I'm so happy you said that hahaha. Nerd alert over here
I just did a look with this palette and I love it! But I did use it with My Dream palette. I used Nurture all over the lid and crease, Aspiration to deepen and darken the outer lid/crease, and inner lid/crease (halo eye). Then in Xenon I used Night sky to line the upper lashline and kind of smudge it out. Then use Skift and dab over the center of lid, bring up through center of crease. I used Rime for inner corner but any of the light shades in Xenon would be pretty (or whisper or Mia from I Need A Nude palette). Snowbow would also be very pretty in place of Skift!!
The looks you did are gorgeous. I was thinking that this palette would work quite well with the glamlite palette you showed. That palette seems to be missing some lighter mattes and shimmers. I have neither palette but I have to say the grey color story really speaks to me for some reason even though I rarely wear a grey look.
The greys/silvers look beautiful on you. I wish her palette wasn't so one note. That being said, I will still buy this palette but, I will wait for her holiday sales. 😊
It's actually not as one note as it may seem. I own it and while it does contain grays and silver, it also has a pale pink with a bit of a blue hue/shift, taupes, an iridescent eggshell, a deep navy, a stunning smooth metallic white and a great cream to powder charcoal that applies effortlessly as a liner. Also, unlike most standard mirrorball shades, this silver has an almost lilac undertone. I only wear cool tones so this is my type of color story but it's more versatile in person and the quality is amazing. You're smart to wait for a sale given the price and I would have done the same had I not bought it from Ulta the day it launched using a 20% off coupon.
I've been really wanting a grayscale palette, but I prefer to have more mid toned mattes, or I'll just keep doing the same look over and over again. I think I'll pick up the ghostface palette instead
If you're looking for an all matte palette, Devinah Cosmetics Eternal Night is the best grayscale color story ever created. It has a variety of tones, including blue, gray, greige, taupe and purple and most are more midtoned than deep. It also has one of my favorite matte white shadows.
Stop making me want this!!! Once upon a time I had cool leaning neutral skin. Now I have minor sun damage & find warm tones to be very flattering, and cool tones just highlight my texture & lines...but this is the palette I dreamed of in the 90s, when the shimmers did not shine as brightly. The warm charcoal/soft blacks in Retro Glam suit me much better but oh how I covet this!

I only wear cool tones and can dupe this multiple times over in my collection but I bought it for the different formulas and have been loving it so far. It's what I wanted Glam to be
It’s definitely beautiful in terms of formula but not unique in terms of color story! Im glad you’re loving it.
The promo photos online made it look so much more dimensional... Seeing it in person and in this video it's just all grey/silver
Yesssss!!!! Thank you for comparing this to Ghost Face! I definitely like the colors of the mattes in Ghost Face better than the light grey mattes in xenon.
Yes same!
These grey and silvery tones look very pretty with Rachel's eye and hair color.
Thank you! ❤️

Thank you so much! 🥹❤️
You read my mind. Every time I see the palette in YT videos, it looks like a black and white photo.

For sure, the shimmer formula has improved (in my opinion) since the glam palette! This one is gorgeous and would be a nice companion palette 🙂

I thought ND xenon look good with the Nomad Ghost Town being it so dark with those nice blue. They will definitely compliment each other. 💜🌈💜
I think so too!

Thank you so much! ❤️
I add the pinkish shade on the primed skin itself not on top of another color and it shows pink on me
I don't have the mini either and it makes me mad that there's no black black.

I definitely missed hearing your sound affect when you read Natasha Denona discription when you read pink.🌸🎀💕💗💓💞🌸
❤️❤️
Is it stupid that i miss the rubbery backside? This feel so slippery on my desk that I'm scared to drop it 😬
Honestly, I’d choose the Ghostface palette over Xenon…muuuuch more affordable and more variety lol
P.S. SNIRT SNIRT SNIRT 😂

It’s def a very 90s inspired palette!!
Btw Snirt means an unsupressed laugh like a snort 😂
In this context, snirt refers to a slang ski term for snow covered in blown dirt (snow and dirt) but I like your definition too!
