My wife, who is watching the Repair Shop and at the same time shaking her head at me laughing watching your video asks - ‘does he not like Rapha ‘cause he’s always bleeding talking about them’…. You have another fan Julian!
I didn't realise that you can get such lightweight, packable winter kit, I'm now looking forward to cycling these next few months 🚴♂️🌬 As a Premiership football club owner, I can't afford the Rapha versions but maybe Regatta do copies ... Nice matching shirt / brolly combo btw 👍 The radiator at the end 👏👏👏😅😅😅
I see you have the aero performance umbrella, as a multiple gravel bike owner I assumed you would have a repurposed golf umbrella. I only have an old fishing umbrella ( about 6 feet in diameter ) which because of the drag I have to use when on my touring bike, or as it is known by me as my bike as I have n+0 bikes.
Great advice from Saint Julian, Patron Saint of Cycling, even if his halo has slipped somewhat... Still getting your oats at your age Julian? Well done sir! Long sleeved underpants, an electric moustache warmer and a 13.5 tog hairpiece are all I adopt for winter riding, but what about the bike Hutchings old chap? Spiked tyres or snow chains? Great stuff Julian!
Of course! An afternoon siesta is very civilised I always think. A bit continental, but one of Europe's better exports I feel. I've just watched Katy Cookaburglar's winter set up video - nowhere near as good as yours, she advocates keeping her electric heater indoors and the bike with it, unlike you who advocates taking them both outdoors. Silly girl! She also recommends a cute purple light that glows under her bike. Must be a Rapha thing I s'pose...
🤣 Katie's alright (spelling her name correctly his time...) even if that white helmet she wears looks like a massive mixing bowl on her head. GCN though... Blue Peter for bikes that is.
Finally some sensible winter riding advice. Thank you Julian.😊

Say hello to her for me
I really enjoyed the part about carrying the blanket to keep the bollocks from freezing off! A Mylar blanket would seem rather more practical though.

You Sir are Mad. Love it !! I feel enlightened - and I would be if I didn't carry all that stuff.

A cup that keeps hot things hot and cold things cold, do you take us for fools?
Yes
