It’s definitely getting worse but at the same time he puts on better shows now than he did when he was partying too much. I saw him a couple times in the 80s before he became really REALLY famous. His shows were very hit or miss kind of like Bob Dylan’s are. In the last 20-25yrs he’s become a cultural icon so he’s put more effort into it in my opinion. He’s often perform songs completely out of key with terrible phrasing that didn’t match the music at all.
Hard to comment at this level, no words to describe every little thing about this all way round.

When he plays those chords and runs, they are an expression of him at the time-- never quite the same twice. Its a bit like multiple interviews where the same question is posed, the answers will be similar, but not the same. For willie his guitar and vocals are a unique and uninhibited expression of the moment but still recognizable as the song that carries that expression.
Willie's ability to sing off beat at concerts only will never cease to amaze me (Not a jab at Willie I have seen him live twice and they are some of the best concerts I've ever been to.)

My mom wanted to go to see willie nelson at cascades in Tallahassee but couldn't make it because she was in the hospital. She has both of her legs amputated and has heart failure and kidney failure. That was her dream to see him. Please help me to see if willie can do something special for her. She has hospice in the home so she doesn't go anywhere. I would love to see her smile.
