A man's heart has to be so open to God that a woman has to see HIM just to find him. A truly emotional post, and good.
He healed my depression. But not just me. He healed tens of people, they were coming to him, for help. Emotional pain, physical illness, he cured it all. It was amazing. Even doctors couldn't understand. If they were allowed to say it, they would say it was a miracle. Seeing all those people become happier, relieved that they improved.. (continued)

Thanks for this video. I have been feeling a disconnect from God for about 2 years. I was going to church every Sunday, reading my Bible daily, & even singing in my school's choir. But I still felt like I was moving away from God. I think what you said today opened my eyes. I was just going through the motions. I was going to church to please the people at the church & not to worship God. I was reading my Bible out of obligation & not because I needed to get the word in my spirit. Great video.
I feel like God has given you this gift of story telling and reaching out to people. Continue using it :) God bless you brother.
This opened my eyes and I nearly cried.
I've always been Christian but I've become so corrupt and dark.
I've been continuously pushing God away and even questioning him, questioning everything right that I ever grew up believing in.
And now I just feel so guilty. I know that soon or later I'm going to probably turn back to darkness out of anxiety or insecurity, but for now I'm really loving the sensation that I have in my heart after watching this video.

This is why I admire people who are genuinely kind and sweet towards other people. I feel like it's attainable though, through hard work and realization and just fixing one's personality. I also think it's worth it, everyone wants to be a better human being. Your analogy with the dog was pretty good, I love my dog so much I can understand how it can relate to the Gospel.
when you started talking about depression it kinda felt kind of reliving right now, its pretty tough for me and i have no one to talk to about these problems but when i see your videos its so comforting to know "hey this guy knows what i'am going through" it feels like i can talk to you thank you so much for these videos!! :)
I ask God to let there be light if in any situation: at work, with school, with friends,everything. I feel relieved knowing God will help me see the truth and not what ppl want me to see. Honestly, it can be saddening when things r revealed to me but its still a blessing :)
I was actually quite depressed, this cheered me up quite a bit, to know that there are other young people out there feeling the same way, and trying to find consolation in faith.
I love how when you talk you sound so genuine and everything you say is so true about what media shows us and instead of helping us it hurts us because we don't live up to their standards so your cast out until you realize that they want you to be exactly like them and you fall into their trap or fall into depression. In the media it's almost looked down upon to be unique. It's like media is the leader and everyone is the follower so they copy and people are afraid of not following the "leader"
I went through a deep depression a couple of months ago, and I figured out that it was because I stopped going to church. and I had realized that I get my encouragement from church. Not going to church and worshipping and fellowshiping with my church members really messed up the rest of my week. And I have learned that I need that closer relationship with God.
Your wisdom has touched my heart. There are numbers of fires where I live now, and I'm getting evacuated. My family is so worried and scared. I look to God and face my problems head on just like David. I believe prayer is one of the most powerful gifts the Lord gave us. So many people are depressed about their homes being destroyed, but I know God will bring down these fires. This video gave me even more strength for my loved ones and my city. God Bless You ^^
One thing that I always hold onto is that God does not chastise those for whom he has no love; he is breaking down our filth, only to rebuild us again as he wants, in love.I'm happy I found this video tonight because I felt just like you, so thanks. God does amazing work in our lives and at times, we only see that after going through those hard times, but I know with His help we will all make it through. I recieved salvation after living in the darkness for a long time. It happened through IYF and even though I have listened to you for some time I don't think I accepted your words with the humbleness as I do now. Your ability to preach the gospel is interesting and easy to understand. That's what brought me to listen to even when I was not 'religious'. My thoughts were deceiving me, trying to tell me not to listen to you, but I did because I was in need of a change in my heart and life. thanks!

You're so right!!! People really never believe you. I was told to stop looking for excuses to be lazy and get over myself. As if I had nothing better to do than sit around begging for attention. But going through that later made me realize how not alone i was & my loved ones tried to reach me but I kept shutting them out. Anyway, I fell on one of your videos a few of hours ago, and I loved it so much that I've been watching one after another ever since. I love what you do. Keep it up
I'm not even Christian, but I get and appreciate your story. Very well explained! I always struggle with doing what I think is good versus what actually is good for me and to understand and know others go thru the same stuff is comforting in a way. Reflecting on what I've done seems to help me the most when I feel down.
He is really good with putting our feelings into words for others to understand.
I felt the exact same way when I watched this video. His story made so much sense and it touched me deeply. I wish there were more guys out there like him.
It's crazy... Just yesterday, I thought, "You can't really talk about your problems with your friends anymore. Maybe you should just post to Tenchi randomly and he might help you...... No, that would be too crazy!" And today, I watched this (older) video. (I'm a new subscriber. Hi~ ^^) It made me realize that there are actually many people thinking as I do. there are millions of reasons why people get depressed it can be simple as a blink of an eye to very complicated like rocket science. what comes around goes around just live your life full best and let everything flow easy no need to worried about the future or what everyone think about you.
Thank you for showing me that even the people that always seem happy, can have their depressed moments as well. I tend to forget that when I'm down. It's always hard to get out, and I will try my best not to be anymore. Thank you =D
holy crap your voice is so soothing in this video I wouldn't mind having you around when I'm depressed! I have suffered from depression since I was about 13, I'm 18 now and still working on it and I understand what you mean when you say people think you are faking it or trying to get attention. Just know that you aren't alone and I agree 100% about what you said about feeling dark. Just live your life in the way that makes the most sense to you and do the best you can everyday.
oh my goodness. this video made me cry because it was like an awakening for me. i have been depressed at such a young age and now that i think about it, it is because of the media. and i have always just lied to myself saying that im happy and im doing good things when im not. this is the first time i've watched your videos and i think i came across them for a reason. thanks so much for your enlightenment and im glad you're doing videos like this:)

I really love to listen to your voice it is really calming. I don't know what I believe in or if I believe in anything at all, but religion inspires me so much. I really appreciate you making this kind of video, and that you try to send a light out to those who wander around in darkness
Thank you for those words of truth, Tenchi. I know what it's like to go through depression. I've gone through it many times in my life. And there were many times I just wanted to end my own life. But something always held me back and I couldn't figure out why. And I'm still here.
Just looking at the title of this one, I can tell this is just the video I need right now. Admittedly, I'm a little depressed right now, but I won't get into why. I appreciate your honesty and humility in sharing such a private battle with all of us. Sometimes I think we feel overwhelmed and think that there is no way God can use us, or think that we have to move mountains in order to be used by God when in reality he just wants us to trust in Him and keep our ears open to when He asks us to move. I'm SO happy that you've come through this with His help. And that you're using your popularity on youtube for something as wonderful as sharing the gospel!

Depression is something that has been bothering me for a while but thank you for talking about this and I sincerely think you should consider becoming a youth pastor or motivational speaker or something

it's always heartwarming to see ppl who genuinely understand what its like to be depressed. it's become this trend to label that word as an excuse and many ppl do use it as an excuse but when it's legit, it's so hard. for me, i would wonder why i was so useless, get mad at myself, not feel motivated to do anything, try to sleep all the time. still today i havent gotten over it but im working on it. thanks tenchijk.

tenchi, you're deep. everytime i watch your vids it's as though you're a best friend who's having a heart to heart conversation with me. i'm Muslim and some of my beliefs differ from yours but i still find it so easy to relate to your videos and your vids make us all realise that regardless of what we believe in we're all equal so we have way more in common than we think. carry on making these vids and inspiring others. you're awesome. never forget that!

I actually had to pause a moment to figure out how to express exactly what I'm feeling. I hope this makes sense. You, Tenchi, this random youtuber previously unknown to me, have, through this video, become my personal messenger. Not by what you said here, though. Growing up a Christian, I was already privy to this info. But because I was able to see a genuine dramatic change in the way you presented yourself to the public. Hi Tenchijk I loved your outlook on depression it was very insightful and from an honest point of view. When I was in 11th grade my mother died and I sunk into a deep depression.. I could never fully deal with it because I had to get back to school immediately. When I started to grieve my grandmother died two months after my mother and I just sank deeper and deeper. It got so bad my family started to really worry about me and suggested therapy. Your vid was soothing. From ur # 1 Liberian fan!

Be thankful you had such a wonderful father, and cherish those moments for the rest of your life. Some fathers live to be as 90 and was never really a father. You were blessed to meet such a wonderful being, and one day soon you will meet him again in heaven. God does things for a purpose, and his ways may seem strange, but that is because we are so small and he is so large. His ways are never our ways, but his ways are always right. So don't block ur heart towards him, he loves you.
Funny how I can never stay focused in church,but I can focus on your entire video about god and his ways and actually enjoy it.

you know, you explain the gospel so well. The way you simplify really complex things makes it so much easier for me to go back and interpret it on my own. I think that if you were the one in the pulpit;I actually wouldn't mind going to church every Sunday. I kinda feel like a hypocrite sitting in church every Sunday and letting the sermons go in one ear and out of the other, because I don't understand what's being taught/preached. Thank you I just had my heart broken by life (not love) and I've been feeling very depreseed about it and all of my freinds have had no advice other than to "not blame God" but hearing this parable makes me feel like maybe what I thought would be right was just my own selfish opinion of what God would want, your message at the end was very encouraging thank you. Thank you. I just started viewing your videos a few days ago and your transition seems drastic but beautiful to me (or maybe you were always the same but just expressed yourself differently). Either way, this video touched me. I have been in a shadow (between light and dark) for a while. I'm moving towards the light, however. Your videos help in that momentum.
When I watched this I felt like you were talking to me. Like in that one part where you said your beautiful the way you are. You kinda made me feel more better about my self and helped me a Lott. I am going through depression right now but watching this made me feel better. Thankyou. :)
I know how you feel or felt Tenchi... I'm still in the darkness trying to find a way out, except I don't have suicidal thoughts, I just feel lonely and that on one cares, even though I'm surrounded by many wonderful people, I know what you mean, God really does fill that void inside you longing for light... So weird that you talked about depression because that's what i've been dealing these days. I've been through it before when my brother passed and it stayed for so long that I fear it more than death, but here I am again going through those same feelings as before. I mean I have so many people around me, but yet that empty feeling it's as if i'm all alone no matter what. Depression is hard to deal with, but I think that the only person who can help myself out of this is me.

not only depressed but I feel like ppl are just settling when they have a greater potential. One thing that helped my past my sad days was forgiving myself for holding onto things and mending relationships. And, ya know sometimes I felt like I was n a black hole w/ no chance or escape, but I stayed strong n tryed venting to my friends n things got better.
