Here are some "poor man's lab" ideas for you-- 1. use flexible LED desk lamps 2. buy the cheapest pair of polarized glasses you can, and tape them over the objective lens of the microscope you're using. Polarized light can obtain the same glare-reducing effect as oblique lighting. (If you're using a stereoscope where the light from the surface is going from the workpiece into your eyes, not from the workpiece into a camera, then into a screen, you could try wearing polarized glasses when you look through the scope). 3. If you need diffuse lighting, use tape and printer paper to make reflectors. One example would be to make a kind of wall around the microscope stage, then use your external lighting on the outside of the paper. This will give you diffuse lighting. None of these options are going to give you the best results like you'd get with tools designed for the task like what Northridge is selling here. But if business is hard, every dollar counts! I'd discourage you from taking this kind of bootleg approach to cost reduction when it comes to your consumables (flux & solder) and measurement tools (e.g. multimeter). GL

After one year of using this kind of microscope and camera I discovered that this kind of work is an art by basicly playing with light to ajust the proper image quality. Hi guys.I have a question. How can I test if DVI port from monitor is working? With multimeter.I bought already 2 cables and I think that the monitor port is bad not the one from video card
You don't even need a multimeter for that. You use a second monitor. If you have an image on a known to function monitor then your problem is indeed either on the DVI port of the monitor or in your monitor's board.
