    A. I always think that the episode I'm currently watching is the best one ever but then the next one is even better. seriously your guests are the most amazing people. Thank you for bringing out their message.
    B. those two people dressing up as the two of you on Purim were simply showing all listeners' and viewers' appreciation to you two in their way. So they deserve big shouts too! SHAVUA TOV from Eretz Israel.

I'm with you Blimie! I felt that way a hundred percent growing up (in Toronto) and went through a similar journey. I live in Europe, and fight with the schools all the time, bc I feel my kids are being treated very 1980. I'm probably moving back for this very reason. I feel like a child advocate here too, but that's not exactly how they view me.
    Also, I got the dog🤦‍♀️

Let me say like this. Intown schools are on the teachers side and out of town schools are on the students side it's just a fact! I would say Toronto is considered out of town. As a Brooklyn kid I'd say they still side a lot with the teachers

For the car example, there DOES exist a reason where you don't give a "reason". Example: "I just have a bad feeling about it, I'm not really sure what to tell you. I don't want you to take the car tonight" I wouldn't use this all the time, but it IS legitimate.

It's a great episode, but not fully Torah perspective, Mishlei (13:24) One who spares his rod hates his son, but one who loves him disciplines him in his youth. Also (Beraishes 16:12) Yishmael was adored by Avraham was not disciplined and therefore left Torah, went into evil ways, same with Esav (ibid 25:28)
Similarly, David Hamelech did not rebuke his son Avshalom and did not discipline him and as a reslult he strayed from Torah as well, and sought to kill his father.
Another source, (Mishlei 29:17) Dscipline your son and he will give you peace, and he will give plaesures to your soul.
Mishlei is full of it! (29:15) The rod and rebuke provide wisdom, but a self indulgent youth brings shame to his mother
Listen I can go on, so many more sources, and I am NOT advicating abuse, or perpetual hitting and discipline ch"v! But i AM saying there is time and place for everything, and to NEVER punish a kid, that's not the way of the Torah! Torah is always relevant, this episode may involve kfira... not paskening but it just may.

The word discipline comes from the word disciple, which means student. Insinuating that discipline means teaching, not specifically using force. Her method is not free for all, just teaching through connection versus anger. That's how I understood it at least

They look yeshivish lite. Those guys speak and look at women. If you want men who dont speak or look at women you'll have to visit the chassidish charedi people in Meah Shearim. They don't go on youtube either though.
