I absolutely loved Returnal as well. The atmosphere of that game is so far up my alley, very cold, dead and alien. It actually feels like you are exploring an unknown world. It’s the kind of game that you will rave about to people but at the same time you can’t recommend because it’s so damn hard lol. Guarantee it will be a cult classic in time
I've personally been playing a lot of Celeste, , furi, unreal tournament 2000 and deltarune. Celeste is absolutely amazing and i've put 24 hours into it in the last month. Unreal i've been playing on and off but i always enjoy a little bot match. Furi was brutal but definitely a good time, and deltarune is my favorite game this year.
Even if you decide not to finish Xenoblade, I'd definitely recommend watch all the cutscenes on RUclips. That game's story and writing is an absolute masterpiece.
Matt if you’re looking for a good JRPG I’d suggest you keep an eye out for Shin Megami Tensei V for the Switch. Absolutely fantastic series, with more adult themes, grim atmosphere and moral choices that shape the story in different ways. I too was never a fan of JRPGs until I played SMT IV this year. It’s also pretty hard so you’ll probably enjoy the challenge as a Dark Souls fan

Xenoblade advice: skip all the bland side quests and play up until Satorl Marsh. That’s basically where the tutorial ends and it’s anywhere from 5-10 hours into a first playthrough. And if you think that’s bad, Xenoblade 2 is tossing tutorials at you 25+ hours into the game lol. I’m still a huge fan of the series but it’s definitely not for everyone
I’ve been wondering if Ghostrunner is worth buying right now or not. I played the demo and had fun. Although, I might wait for a price drop. Great video as always Matt!

Just finished yakuza 0 and it’s probably one of my favorite games ever. But to be fair I don’t play many games unless I can fight, race, or win a championship in them lol.
Hey Matt, if you want to try a good "Dark Souls-like" 2D Metroidvania you should check out a game called "Blasphemous". I highly recommend it. I very rarely replay games but I played it a second time to go for the "good" ending and to 100% it.
Been playing the Age of Calamity DLC, blasted through Nier Automata two weeks ago, been trying to play Diablo II but having no friends makes it less fun, and I play Genshin Impact and LoL daily, so that’s been my life recently.

Speaking as a JRPG fan, I agree that Xenoblade Chronicles is tedious and repetitive. I persevered for the full 60 hours and I can't say my experience with the game improved any as I continued. Yakuza: Like a Dragon might be a good pick as a JRPG for non-JRPG fans, though it does reference and pay homage to the classics. Edit: Oh, you've played it!
@@MattasticASMR I have that as well, but can run no mans sky without problem. All I had to do was overclocked it a bit, (980 ti's are notoriously easy to overclocked into 1070/1070ti power and even 1080 if you have a good cooling system), so id give that a try before shelling out money for a new one in this bloated market. Good luck either way

The fetus monster in village was absolutely terrifying. It made me scream and throw my controller when it tries to grab you from under the bed.
