This needs to go out more and shared by more Theravada temple's.
The laity need to be taught and explained WHY it's akusala just like Ven Yassa did before the 2nd Great Buddhist Council.
This whole issue of money give to monks started the 2nd Great Buddhist Council.
Yet laity in my temple do not know of this history but yet claim to be Buddists.
Sure, they have faith, saddha, but the monks need to stop it and not be afraid of not getting financial support for the temple’s expenses and utilities fees.
Ayam vuccati bhikkhave sammāvācā.
And this monks, is called right speech.
