This is the first "rivalry" video I have seen that doesn't make Birmingham - Vile the number one hatefest. It doesn't matter what divisions they are in they really detest each other, and if you ever go to one of these matches wear your body armour.
A bit like the Tyne-Wear derby, the South Coast derby is originally a rivalry not between football clubs but the two towns/cities. Or more precisely, between the two harbours/docks. It goes back a few centuries.
Despise them from down the a23, was the mullery incident of throwing the coins on ground saying that’s all we’re worth that proper started it, though the constant playing each other, promoted together, relegated together, many cup replays
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 during the 70s & 80s, was a permanent thing, we went up, they went up same season, we went down, they went down same season, would draw each other in the cup & land up with 2 or 3 replays, so was playing each other a minimum of 4 times a season & then we left them behind & unfortunately they have now overtaken us on a temporary basis
A few derbies up here you touched on Grimsby v Scunthorpe but Grimsby v Lincoln is just as intense, none league as a Worksop fan, which I hope to get you up to see us one day, Worksop v Alfreton is a big game for us when it happens, the hatred stems back from the 1960’s in the old Midland league days and the now defunct Retford Town, more modern rivalry is with Gainsborough Trinity, Believe it or not there is a Worksop derby Worksop Town v SJR Worksop, we played them 18 months ago in the first ever meeting in the Sheffield Cup at Sandy Lane and the gate was over 2,500 , Also a mention is the Retford derby Retford United v Retford FC , both are in the same league, last season was in the NCEL Division 1 both games had gates of over 1,500 and this season after both teams were moved sideways it will be in the United Counties Division 1 , both grounds worth a visit
They can’t really play us v brightscum at 3.00, cos of the amount of trouble & fights we have, Millwall aint really a rivalry, it’s just a case of our boundaries overlapping & so is mainly about who has the more fans, we don’t treat them or the clowns (Charlton) as rivals, but they both do look at us as rivals, it’s just brightscum for us
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 On 24th August 1974 (50 years ago this Saturday) a 17 year old Blackpool fan named Kevin Olsson was stabbed to death at Bloomfield by a Bolton fan when he went for a drink at half time. Bolton fans have goaded the Blackpool fans frequently over the years with it.
Gills v Chatham, not really a rivalry, never play each other competetively, many fans watch both clubs. I don’t think Millwall see the Gills as a rival 👍🏻⚽️

Yes I was surprised as well when i done my research 🤷♂️

Two towns going to war, always fascinates me, steeped in history 👍🏻⚽️
I remember Port Vale v Stoke U21 a few years ago was a bit tasty , also when any away fans have to be` bussed in ` it`s done for a reason
Bring back the potteries derby, problem is they are always a couple of divisions apart ⚽️👍🏻

Yes, you have faced each other a few times over recent years 👍🏻⚽️

Thanks Neil, just looked up Worksop, ground very close to the station, I think I will add this to my list 👍🏻⚽️
Everyone hates Liverpool 😂
really i thought it was the pub team from old trafford
Fair enough 👍🏻
Cambridge V Peterborough is feisty derby not a lot of love lost between the two clubs.
Yes I am aware of this one, the games are normally sold out, I will keep an eye on this one 👍🏻⚽️
Chelsea vs spurs should be in this
Would that be a nutter rating of 5?
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 I would think so the hate both teams have is crazy

I love your renaming of the Sussex coast team 👍🏻⚽️
Blsckpool v Bolton. Since 1974.
I’m not aware of this one Arthur, any particular reason why they hate each other?

Hi Matt
Cardiff v Swansea is the only bubbble fixtures in UK so it’s still bad and the hatred is real
Thanks for the confirmation, I would love to experience one of these games in the future 👍🏻🏴
Give me a shout and I’ll meet up with you if it’s a home game I’m going to , all depends on work
Thanks Neil, I will 👍🏻⚽️
Villa vs blues best Darby then West Ham vs Millwall then Sunderland vs Newcastle
How about Wolves v West Brom?
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 decent I reckon 5th

Exeter hate the green Cornish club down the road.
I’m assuming more than Torquay?
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 Absolutely.
The Grecians v the Cornish is the real Devon derby
