I'm sure you were shocked just as I was about the news of Marco Hietala leaving Nightwish. He was one of the main ingredients and dare I say, an irreplaceable member. Nevertheless, I can understand his reason for doing so and I wish him all the best, with the hope that he might return to the band one day. Today, let's celebrate this amazing live performance of The Islander (probably my favorite Nightwish song) and wish him a happy 55th birthday!

It's always a big help if people would buy the albums and merchandise (if possible from their own website) of the bands they like. Many just download the music of their favourite artist, sometimes even pirated music and the artist gets 0 cents.
Agree, however, even that sometimes is not enough since big music company's really take the biggest cut. Not a lot people know that Elvis was pretty poor and that his managers took almost everything he made, and that's just one example
@@HofTheStage Thanks for the reply. Wow, that's crazy! And i believe artists are not allowed to sell anywhere where the record company / manager cannot take a share. Just yesterday i wanted to buy some merchandise from Nightwish website and sad to know that maybe 80% goes to some corporation instead of the artist.
:/ too many people take a piece of the pie, some probably deserve it, but there are always greedy ones who basically do nothing

It is in fact sad news... for Marko is/ will ever be one of the main power-souls feeding Nightwish's history of success and epic live performances! Specially by 'fingerprinting' almost all their songs with his deep-and-versatile voice and his incredible bass-style-talent...! This decision says a lot about the predatory disc/ musical giant companies, their dominance and abusing power over musicians, groups, composers and successful artists in general (or earlier, with high potential... as soon as they sense the smell of success...?!). And Happy B-day! Best of luck and All Good Things to Marko! To his new projects and family special time! And let's hope we will hear (from) him in the future, in or out of Nightwish (but secretly, night&daywishing, in... ;-) right?). And Congrats! Not yet, I might! That the version I've heared first, fell in love with them immediately and also fell in love with the musical after. That's the song I actually sang at my audition for solo singing in a local music high school. Come to think about it, I wouldn't be who I am if I never heared Nightwish!

She is very versatile and does everything with style, glamour and 'out-of-the-box wrappings'... Hope you like it

I think this a beautiful song and performance. I love Marko but you singing parts of the song, it didn't seem to me an analysis but your way to show you can sing. if that's the case, I find it disrepectul. Imho.
Of course it wasn't because of me showing off, I just enjoyed the parts so much I had to try them. What better way to analyze something than to try it yourself and see how to achieve that sound. If anything, it's a sign of respect, trying to sing something from someone as great as Marco. And I've said so many great things about him, I really can't see why you would think that it's disrespectful...
@@HofTheStage For me, an analysis from a vocal coach is to explain how the singer achieves that sound he/she produces. That's not what I've heard from you after you sang those parts. For me, it looked like showing you can do it. It's what I felt/my impression while listening to your reaction. Based on that, it is why I said it was disrespectful.
