- The Azumini Blue River is the only crystal clear blue river in Nigeria.
As part of the eastern Nigeria Tour, I visited the Azumini Blue river which is Located in Ukwu East Local government Area of Abia State Nigeria.
Because of its beautiful and relaxing nature, sometimes, you find people visit this place to take a canoe riding and river partying. You also find people swimming and excavating sands from the river.
It is said that the river flows back to the Atlantic Ocean via Akwa Ibom state Nigeria.
Despite its tourist potential and designating it as one of the state tourist point, The Abia state government has done nothing to develop the tourist potential of this place.

Oh Mr Nkwa, please visit the Ethiope River - I spent my childhood growing up in Nigeria and my best memories are of swimming in its deep, crystal clear, clean, and cold swift water. I hope that today’s generation can still enjoy it as I and all my childhood friends did.

I Did my national service in a village in enugu state, i never had a problem, not once, never
I travelled across the eastern Nigeria, visiting other NYSC members, we kept late nights, had parties, learnt their culture and ate their food
I remember the natives coming to our lodge to check if we have eaten
I remember them bringing food to us during Easter celebration
I learnt how to eat kola nuts with groundnut paste, i learnt how to drink palm win with bushmeat and abacha was my favourite dish then

Thanks for watching Henry. This happened in Azumini in Abia state close to Rivers State and Akwa Ibom state. And not Enugu We have to run for our lives, a really bad experience but thank God we were saved, although few others were not too lucky either. Although this could happen anywhere either, I have to put it out so others take note as well. details on the videos later.

There is a similar river even more blue and clearer than this one in Ihite Ihiala in Anambra State called Abanze river.
Nice job, Mr. Nkwa! However, you missed the more beautiful side of the river where women and kids go to wash, swim, etc. It's such a beauty. The river bank literally extends into some people's households/compounds.
There's another part of this same river where you get to see some really beautiful private beaches. You can have real adventure on that side, swimming across the river with the help of a marine rope. A little bit too much of an adventure but very interesting! Who wouldn't love Azumini Blue River?

I watched the Azumiri blue River with great passion. We are blessed with many rivers which is fascinating. The sand escalated from the River is very great to build houses and other buildings.

Excellent channel! Well done! Spent many a relaxing time at & in Azumini river. Back in the 70's I was an oil service company manager in Phc. Often visited this place. Fellow use to hire big truck tyre inner tubes to float down the river in then! Float down the river. Get out at a beach near the road bridge. Have a BBQ & few beers then back to the smog & dust or mud of Phc!

You should have visited obuaku azumini,that's where u will see the blues river wild enough and that's the place they want to build sea port in abia state
Wow. Did not get that information. Thank you for sharing. But am not sure I will even attempt to visit again, because the boys in that community seems not to be smiling. They actually attacked out vehicles and killed someone, while the rest of us ran for our lives.

@@DavidNkwa their is another tourist place again in arochukwu where Mary celisor sailed through to enter arochukwu,that water ways is called onuasu,and their use to be a government beach over there,is 6 neutical miles to the sea,if you go there,they are very accommodating just tell them u want to do a documentary about onuasu river,if you pull this through ur page will blow up,cos many people don't know that igbos has that kind of access to the sea,
U will need a drone to capture the sea cos the village and the government beach was blocked by biafran soldiers during the war to prevent Nigerian soldiers from entering arochukwu through waterways,

There is a plan to drag the river and build a river port on it connecting it to the Atlantic via Akwaibom. and to also build a port city in that axis . Hope it materialises

On this my tour I have been able to see and dispute lots of things I seen written on the internet. People, don't even visit they just copy picture and other people write up and duplicate it🤣🤣
@@DavidNkwa Thanks for the good work you are doing. I'm afraid I cant remember the name of the river. The staff of an oil company I worked for took me there in 2010 (12 years ago). The river was so crystal clear, you could see the river bed, even though it was very deep. It is indeed a blue river. I can confirm that much.

That river part they called Awka Ibom is actually part of Abia land but it was purposely carved to Akwa Ibom in desperation to landlock Igbos but still they failed. Those people living in that part of Awka Ibom are 100% Igbos who speaks Igbos fluently till today and never deny their Igbo origin but they have to accept Akwa Ibom as their host state so to get carried along. Nnamdi Kanu has said it in the past and as I can see you speaks Igbo with them over there. Igboland is never landlocked no matter how the Nigeria government desperately attempted to landlock Igbos just to discourage them from breaking out of one Nigeria. The same way they carved most of Imo state to Rivers state and played divide and rule game in Rivers State that made Igbos of Rivers state to start rejecting their Igbo root but the more they try to reject their Igbo root the more it makes them look so stupid because everything in them said they are Igbos starting from their history, names, name of towns, culture, traditions, language and others. IF NIGERIA WANT TO KEEP IGBOS IN NIGERIA WHAT THEY SHOULD BE FOCUSED IS EQUITY, FAIRNESS AND JUSTICE FOR ALL SO IGBOS WILL FEEL BELONG AND NOT BY PLAYING THOSE GAMES WHICH HAS FAILED ALREADY AS TRUTH CAN'T BE HIDDEN FOR LONGER TIME.

Point of currection the most crystal clear water in Nigeria is river ethiope in delta state. It is the deepest inland water in Africa above 60 fit depth which got its source from the foot of a tree. You can check wowache RUclips channel for verification.
I have seen a few video on this. But my travel have thought me something. Many of the facts and claims pit out there are not correct. For instant you said 60ft is the deepest, that may not be correct, because even Imo river is deep than that, at least I measured it. Did any body measured this depths you have mentioned?
I wil love to visit someday and put out correct facts, that part of my job.
I was also in a village where the claims the tree is 800 meters tall, even BBC was there and accept that facts. But when I came, I measured it and it was 42 meters. Then I told the Man it's 42 sir, please put out the right figures 🤣
@@DavidNkwa bro am telling you fact above 60fit in some area is above 100ft. Ship use it in sapele. I use to swim in that river when I was in sapele from secondary school. No river in Nigeria comes close to that water in terms of depth and purity.

The river is truly beautiful but why are people dredging the river for sand, this is total environmental degradation and such activities should be prohibited to protect the aquatic and marine lives. Nigeria just don’t care about it’s citizens, Wilde lives and environment, so what is the essence of having a country with a government? Thanks for sharing
Dredging sand,does not affect aquatic live, it will it make the river deep. The river itself needs to be dreged at some point to allow ships to pass through it and bring in good to South east if possible.
Those people excavating sands, that's their livelihood if they live it, what do you think will happen, they will go into arm robbery and we don't want that
