With only 1kg of silver they can make over 10,000 flagship phones and/or computers. If silver supply runs low and goes to the highest bidder, you can forget the relationship with gold. These trillion dollar companies could easily pay over 1 million dollars per kg for silver and still end up making trillions. There's also the high tech nuclear power industry that can also afford to pay over 1 million per kg. If silver supplies do run low there's no reason for gold to keep it's ratio with silver. None at all. It could very well start losing value. Gold has a few uses but 90% goes to jewelry therefore accumulates every year. If it does become rare and super expensive, the public will see it as the new gold and who knows what might happen to actual gold.
