well patrick cassidy looks like Jack too when patrick's older when patrick & david did ruby and the rockitts and the expression patrick had was like jack's but I do agree about david cassidy I can see where david gets his smile at!
"He and She" starring Richard Benjamin, Paula Prentiss and Jack Cassidy is, hands down, one the greatest sitcoms ever. There's maybe 12 episodes of varying quality on YT. Check them out if you've never seen it. It deserves a DVD blue ray box set release with commentary by stars who, as of this writing, are both still with us.
He and She was a bit too urbane and sophisticated for 1967 when the audience was still at the level of Green Acres and Hogan's Heroes. If He and She had come along 5 years later after TV began to grow up it would've been a major hit.
That diamond heart necklace was a gift from her second husband, Martin Gabel. Arlene wore it faithfully until 1988, when a mugger ripped it from her neck, stealing it.
There was a mic feeding back somewhere in the studio. It became aparrent whenever the audience applauded. If the technology was availanle back then, this would have been a perfect use of a feedback destroyer.
I noticed that Arlene Francis was wearing the heart necklace that her husband Martin Gabel replaced after the one that he gave her was stolen from her. She always wore that necklace until her death. Sometimes when she wore it, she had it inconspicuous on her. But, she never failed to wear it.
Jack Cassidy was cute, and I watched 'He and She', new.I liked it, even as a child. It should have stayed on longer.David Cassidy had brown hair, but he kinda looked like his dad, especially when he smiled. The common man playing on this episode looked kinda like Dick York.Weird.
It appears Arlene had already looked down when Cathy extended her hand which was not really outstretched as a handshake. I believe Cathy was unsure at first if she should extend her hand and Arlene at that point seemed to have her mind elsewhere.
I think the "hurry up call" Allen mentioned to excuse the absence of Donna Douglas was to see her doctor. Watch the 5-30-1967 episode and you'll see what I mean. Still nice of Allen not to reveal anything publicly to embarass Donna to a national viewing audience.
You don't know that! I saw the previous episode and 3 or 4 people were saying she wasn't well, but they didn't know that either. Maybe she actually DID go back to film the show!
@@kristabrewer6736 I watched the previous episode and it was crystal clear that Donna Douglas wasn't feeling well at all! Apparently you missed that episode.
The one thing I did not like about Alan Ludden was during the "Lightning Round" he was always trying to coach them and tell them what to do. That would mess mess me up worse than helping me. He should have kept quiet and let them play.
@@todddepue681 Thanks. Now, I'm wondering why that clue didn't get the "Buzzer," since it's not a word in itself--as far as I know. (Now it's time for me to reach for my dictionary!)
yeah, it totally seemed against the rules. It's amusing to me that we, watching these shows 40-50 years after the fact, sometimes take them way more seriously than the original players did!
They tended to be a little more relaxed with clues like this , where it’s part of a word, than they did with hyphenated or two word clues. They tended to go easy on gestures too unless they became too blatant. Although they were very strict where the clue was a full word within the password.
I luv episodes with Arlene Francis in them. She seems so friendly and happy !👑💝
And as sharp as a pin.
She was absolutely wonderful on "What's My Line" for many years. That show seemed like a party.
Arlene Francis is so cosmopolitan and charming on this and on “What’s My Line.” She and Peter Lawford are just great.
It is amazing how much David Cassidy looked like his father.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

They were twins!
Jack was father of Shaun Cassidy who looked like mom Shirley Jones.
except without the bruises.
Holy cow. David sure looked like his father!!
Allen always has the coolest sports coats!
Fifty years ago!!! So hard to believe. Look how the audience is dressed!
That was when people took pride on how they looked when they went out in public!
@@janeiwasduncan8463 That's exactly correct!!

I agree. Double bill it with 'Good Morning World' for two criminally short-lived series.
I think it ended because Paula Prentiss didn't want to continue. Is that so? How were the ratings?

Arlene was about 60 here and more gorgeous than she was at 40.

Rest In Peace, Jack Cassidy, Allen Ludden, and Arlene Francis. Overdue condolences to the families for your loss. 😔💐💐💐
“Chief chicken” was fun, and love Arlene's laughter.
She had a great laugh.
Wow Jack was handsome! I can really see Jack in David also!
So much fun!
Cassidy is so flamboyant that I can fully understand how folks di’int know Liberace was ........ a Rockette (oooooh, good save!!).

She didn't wear it until her death. It was stolen in the late 1980s when she was on the street in New York city.
Martin was dead over ten years before that pendant was stolen.
The guy Kimble reminds me a bit of Dick York of Bewitched. Resembles just a bit.
Kimball Maull was movie star handsome. He could give Jack Cassidy a run for his money.
Yes, so gorgeous.

Jack's son David was so handsome and multi-talented!
So was Shaun Cassidy! Son of Jack and Shirley Jones
1:20 these days it wouldn't be obvious 😂😂
At about 14:50 departing contestant Cathy attempts handshake with Miss Francis but gets the brushoff. Poor thing.
She didn't really extend her hand enough.
Arlene snubbed her. It was deliberate she saw her hand .
It appears Arlene had already looked down when Cathy extended her hand which was not really outstretched as a handshake. I believe Cathy was unsure at first if she should extend her hand and Arlene at that point seemed to have her mind elsewhere.
Does anyone happen to know if contestant David Eisenberg has a daughter named Janet??
Dr. Kimble 😂😂😂😂

I don't think this makes rational sense; but for some reason, I think people in general were better looking in the 1960's than they are now.
Kimball Maull's hair was perfection.

No

*What word did Jack Cassidy use to elicit "tab" successfully? I've never hear of it.*
He actually broke the rules by saying "-ulation" hoping Kimball would fill in first syllable of tabulation.
