  • This 1975 Dodge promotional film, titled " 1975 Dart ", was sent to Dodge car dealerships to be used as an in-house Sales personal training film. Sales Personnel were to show the film to potential buyers prior to the test drive. The film highlights technical aspects and features of the new model year.
This film came from my personal collection. This film was not downloaded from any website and is not reused content. This restoration is my work. The restoration process started with removing the super8 film from the Kodak Model B Movie Film Cartridge. The film came printed on magnetic sound Eastman film stock. After removal the film was cleaned, repaired, and spooled onto a standard film reel. Next the scanning to digital process was performed on the Lasergraphics Scanstation motion picture film scanner in 2k resolution. Excess film grain noise was removed and the images upscaled to 4k resolution utilizing Topaz AI software. Then extensive color correction was performed in Davinci Resolve. Finally, the film was downscaled back to 2k for uploading to RUclips.

Ahh yes, the fuel crisis days. You could see cars like the Dart and Nova getting much more luxurious at that time because of it, as people wanted smaller cars. The Slant Six Darts had legendary durability, they seemed to run forever

they are pretty hard to blow them up, I did manage to spin a rod bearing on mine. I had added a 4 barrel carb with a cam and headers. the power came in at 4000rpms. it couldn't handle constant 6000 rpm abuse.

As someone who builds a lot of scale model cars I'd really like to see more Mopar kits (and others) with full-cover wheel options like the cars in this vid instead of everything having rally wheels or occasionally steelies and dog dishes.

Had a 75 4 door Dart Swinger. Gave it to my brother when it was at 185,000. I replaced the timing chain and gears around 160,000. And eventually had to replace the electronic ignition control module. Good times, great car.

In the lifespan of this 1967 shape Valiant/Dart there were 3 B-Bodies, 3 C-Bodies and a fuselage styled A-Body for Australia (with a Hemi 6)...developed at enormous cost. If they'd focused on keeping this model really crisp and modern and spent less on restyling the other cars the Aspen (and its troubles) probaly wouldn't have been necessary.

Love your channel......but on adding the extra music over the original music.......you might want to what I do, when I do my uploads, if there's a copyright complaint, file an appeal and explain that the music was originally licensed by Chrysler Corp and that its in the public domain. The music folks are pretty good and as long as they understand its for historical purposes and education, they retract. I'm always respectful on my request. It works well for me.

Love your channel too. I appreciate the advice and am glad to here that is working for you. I will have to try it. I applied with RUclips to monitize my content but got rejected for reused content. Doing some research I found from other RUclipsrs that a copyright claim won’t effect your channel unless after you haven’t been accepted into the program yet, and will throw a red flag into your chances. I would really like to keep the films as original as possible and focus on the image restoration. I am making some adjustments and going to reapply in a couple weeks.

0:42 "...add to the glamour." Never thought of a Dart as being 'glamorous' 😜

me neither, I owned a 68 Dart with a slant 6. I turned mine into a really fun daily driver. changed the cam, added a four-barrel carburetor and headers. Converted it disc brakes and removed the auto trans, installed 4 speed with a 3.55 8 3/4 sure grip rear end. front and rear sway bars, replaced the rear leaf springs and torsion bars doubling their stiffness. it handled great.

Let's just forget about the fact that a drastic numerical lowering of the rear axle ratio makes the poor little 318 2bl a slug. Drove plenty of them from Darts to Volares. Pre-smog, these were decent engines, and often the most powerful standard V8 in whatever class they were used. Post - uh huh. When the SE/Valiant Brougham came out in 74, Dodge/Plymouth moved ahead of the Maverick LDO in 'luxury' compacts. But with the redesigned GM X cars for 75 and the Granada, Chrysler had nothing and it was a holding action until the Aspen/Volare in 76.

those Chrysler engines were well built. I think better designed than ford or chevy. my favorite showing their superiority was the Hemi engine. Too bad it was gone by this time

I agree wholeheartedly. The 318 in particular was easy to maintain and work on. Aftermarket go parts were plentiful and fairly cheap to add, shaming a lot of GMs, Fomomcos and imports alike. If they made this exact car today with the regulated safety bullshit and proper fuel management it would slay the competition.

It’s to detract from copyright infringement. Believe me, he wishes it was truly period correct. There is a lot of restorative work involved to enhance color clarity and digital speed to make this a possibility.I applaud him for historic gems like this and bringing these to us masses . You should too
