- Beautiful Italian Stiletto Switchblade Knife Restoration.
I found this knife at an antique store. I like Italian knives, so I decided to restore this knife. The stiletto was broken - the spring and button were broken. I restored everything and made a new handle from antlers. I hope you liked my restoration.

My dad passed away was in the Korean War and I got what looks to be the same design as this knife in his toolbox but black handle and push button also doesn't work. This has inspired me to get it restored to working condition.
that firing button rebuild was totally awesome!
Beautiful restoration! I do wish the scales we’re a little thinner or tapered at the ends, but that’s a minor nitpick. I’d gladly take it! 😀
You are amazing. Truly beautiful to watch the full restoration process. I have an old broken switchblade I have kept for 40 years; you give me the incentive to try to restore it now. Thank you.
Any luck?
Amazing restoration….so therapeutic to watch
Thanks!
Awesome result and those knives are such classics too. It's great to see them brought back to life, but I suspect that they actually look much nicer now than they did when brand new!
I think that is the cleanest knife I have seen you work on!!! But again you did a killer job on one of my favorite style of knives. You are very talented and resourceful!! Great job!!!
Thank you!

Incredible job! Especially considering just very basic tools were used.
Excellent job. I have a general love of switchblades and the traditional Italian stiletto type in particular. I believe this is a Taiwanese manufactured copy, despite being marked Italy. But no matter. The Taiwan made versions are generally good quality and typically more ruggedly built than the Italian ones! I don't know what country you're in, but here in the United States it's possible to obtain general purpose parts for these types of knives, which can save a lot of labor. There's also soft steel fine bristle wire wheels available from Brownells, which is our largest gunsmithing supply company, which are excellent for removing surface rust and corrosion. They aren't aggressive like common wire wheels and won't cut metal. I've made extensive use of them in gunsmithing. They don't damage bluing or nickel plating, and leave a fine satin polish on bare steel, brass and aluminum. Saves a lot of hand labor, if you can get them.
Very nice refurbishing project. Looks really nice. Most people using bone antler usually tapers it off towards the bolsters at both ends. It gives it a more smoother finish. Just an idea. Otherwise perfect...
One heck of a nice job. Better than new. Thanks for showing the right way to restore a switchblade. Looking forwards to your next video.
Absolutely beautiful!
This might be my favorite restoration you’ve done my friend. Well done!
Thank you very much! There will be more interesting restorations)
o m g what a great job your restoring is incredable
thanks!
Great work. Be proud! 😊
Merci!
She's a beauty now,,,,cool vid!!😎
THANK GOD! I was beginning to think this channel was a one hit wonder with only one good restoration
I like switchblades also, I have 8, always carry one, they are legal in my State. 2 of them have a broken spring but nothing else wrong with them. Your video gave me a pretty good path to replacing those springs.
Thanks
I'm glad my video helped you)
It did. I'm sure you have a favorite, like me. I have one that I got when I was in Italy, beautiful wood, carried it every day for about 15 years and then one day I went to open it and snap went the spring. I sure hope I can fix it. @@ReXtorer
Well done!
I could smell the video when you started sanding the antlers :D great video!
))) thanks)
hahahah, good point indeed, I was smelling stag too when polishing it
It was splendid! Congratulations!
Hello mister beautiful knife beautiful restoration good job well done
*Simple tools do a good job of making the job easier* 👍👌👍👌
Now that's 1 blade I wouldn't mind owning ❤
Great video. I have to stiletto that the safety hasn't worked since I bought it. After seeing this I think I can fix it. Thanks
Wonderful!! Your work is always mind blowing! Unusual choice for the handle, but I like it.
Antler is used all the time
Very impressive restoration. What a difference!👍
Thanks!
Amazing restoration! What a beauty!
Next, make a blade for it out of modern steel and get rid of the (supposed) 440 stainless. That would be a worthwhile challenge. I have an old, cheap stiletto I bought in Mexico in the 70's. You know, from a roadside vendor selling really crappy stuff in Tijuana. Nothing like an actual Italian knife. It would be fun to turn it into a nice knife, but the time and money involved makes it not too terribly attractive. I can build a new switchblade and not spend much more. I like your work. Take it to the next level.
Excellent as always
Buenas noche bonito vídeo gran restauración
That's a great restoration but man that antler was.... it was a choice.
Amazing Restoration 👍🏻👍🏽👍
Amazing restoration, but antler scales seem much too chunky
22 hours is record time for this result. I would be prepared to trade 6 working days at least.
100% agree
Good choice on the Antlers.
Full Profi this Man, very good your Tools
Felicitaciones
Knife be lookin' killer, @ReXtorer!
This pun is dark. The stiletto knife is associated with crime: many serial killers use it in movies, together with the 120 hunting knife.
nice work!
Beautiful work! Would prefer a wooden handle myself but the result is just great!
Has fer un treball de restauració magnífic, enhorabona !
Thank you!
Lovely restoration, but I think the antler need to taper into the metal it looks overly chunky, but apart from that 👍
Beautiful job mate I have a few stilettos..... Restoration first class job👍👍👍
thanks!
Phenomenal
What a thing of beauty! Well done!!!
Looked better in wood but still super cool to see how the inside of a Stilleto switchblade works!
Excellent, such an artistic work...
I kinda don't like the new handle. Just being honest, but the overall blade looks AWESOME. You did a great job on it!
👍 great
Beautiful job, thanks for the video
Another great work dude 😮😮
I knew a television repairman back in the late 1970's and he carried a switchblade in his toolbox and used it all the time because he could easily open it with one hand. To him, it was just another tool in his toolbox.
Super jest ten cały scyzoryk pozdrawiam twórcę 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Absolutely amazing! If I ever find one worth restoring I want to send it to you with the antler and some money. I just love what you did here!
Made in Italy, resurrected in Minnesota - good show ole boy!
Amazing restoration
The deer antler looks cool but i thing black Albany would have been sweet.
You do amazing work
man i remember my brother gave me a switchblade for my 17th birthday
Great work! i love a good mechanical knife restoration
Good job, well worth the effort!
I have the exact same knife, with a broken spring, just like that. Do You have by any means a drawing with the dimensions about the spring, so i can repair my own? Wery nice restoration by the way. As usual.
Beautiful restoration
So good ii boss 👍👍😊😊
Luar biasa. 👍
Great job, you should be proud !
Great work on a great knife!! Cheers!!😁🔧🛠️👍
Yes awesome man. Very well👏☺️
Looks amazing 😊😎👍
Nicely done!
Great work, as always!
Beautiful I would chamfer the edges if it were me
Nice con from Ireland 🇮🇪

I have my grandpas and have been hesitant to tear into it cuz of the riveting. The spring is good but the locking pin must've had a little sheared off a little bit cuz the blade won't stay locked. Can hear it click but if you relax your closing hand it clicks open again. I might try to restore it but will keep the scales as is
Amazing bro 👏👍👍👍👍👍
I have the same knife, it was interesting to see how to restore it if it breaks.
Beautiful
What do we need to do to prevent the spring from breaking?
Elinize sağlık, bıçak yayı yapımında kullandığınız çeliğin kodunu öğrenebilir miyim
You have an unbelievable talent...very nice 🎨
So sick
❤❤
Leaf spring replacement or repair would have been useful
Saw the 440 stainless steel stamp on the blade, this is a relatively cheap version.
Shine Shine✨✨✨
I collect Italian switch blades, all different styles. Is there a trick to centering the blade?
I think the previous owner modified the button to make it low profile. It should have still functioned before the spring broke. I don't see how else it could have gotten like that otherwise.
Amazing work and a great 12 hours well spent 👍😎 it’s a great shame that they don’t make them anymore 😢
Yes they do what are you talking about?
I have a 440 stainless italian switchblade just like this and it only had half a spring. I was wondering if anyone might know where to get spare springs.
