In this video, Anthony Sequeira covers how to find the latest software for your Cisco C-Series device by using the Host Upgrade Utility. He’ll kick things off by showing you not only what you need to download, but just as important, where to find the right software bundle.
Once you’ve replaced older servers with the latest and greatest Cisco C-series equipment, you want to make sure that the software you’re running is fully updated. To do this, you’ll use the Host Upgrade Utility.
Anthony will show you where to find this on Cisco’s website, which isn’t always intuitively placed. He’ll walk through collecting everything you need to update your server’s firmware as well as the Cisco Integrated Management Controller (CIMC), which is vitally important.
Updating the CIMC will also upgrade the bios, the LOM, the RAID (if it’s built into your particular C-Series), as well as the P81E virtual interface card.
