I would add the 100 proof Old Grand-Dad. For some reason I like it more than the 114 proof Old Grand-Dad that many choose.
Old Grandad was absolutely in the running. But it had been a while since we had any of it so it didn’t make it in (Blame Alyssa… JK😂). Cheers🥃!!!
Great list I’ve had all but the ET but we do have Coopers craft and it is the same juice as the original ET black cap.
We love our Coopers Craft!!! Cheers🥃
I thought I heard more recently that Coopers' Craft is actually *a blend* of the original ET juice and Old Forester juice.
Great video! Some solid bottom shelf bangers right there! Early Times is a great daily sipper. I would exchange the Jim Beam and Wild Turkey with JTS Brown and JW Dant. JW Dant is one of my favorite starter pours when I’m going to be doing a decent amount of pours for a blind or a tasting.
You have a super solid list and that Benchmark Single Barrel is probably my favorite of their lineup. One honorable mention is Very Old Barton 100 proof. It’s super solid! Thanks for a great video, keep ‘em coming my friends! 🥃
I’ve seen people talking a lot about JTS and JW but I haven’t had any of those unfortunately. But I have definitely been more aware of looking for those! Same for Very Old Barton. Thanks for watching, Cheers🥃
We had similar list when I reviewed the jim Beam. Great list!
Thanks for watching! Cheers!🥃
All great choices! I would throw in Maker's Mark, Old Grand Dad BIB and 114, and JTS Brown BIB.
I like makers, mainly the cask strength. 114 was close but I haven’t had it in a good while. JTS isn’t super easy to find around where I’m at but I know it’s a solid choice. Cheers🥃
Wild Turkey 101 is great. Buffalo Trace is amazing for the price. I cannot believe the long finish it has at 90 proof, and it is full of flavor. It makes the best Old Fashioned. For $25 I was very surprised with the Jim Beam 7. I liked it a lot. Enjoyed the video guys!
Yes - love BT for the price. Cant beat it! Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Strong lineup. I would recommend 1783 Heroes Edition and Powers Irish Rye. The heroes edition (blue label)only comes out once a year. Priced the same as the regular. Powers might be harder to find but great summer sipper
I haven’t seen one yet but when I do it’s a definite grab! Cheers🥃
Nice! Sadly, I only have 2 out of 5. We'll be doing a budget video soon too!
Looking forward to watching it! Cheers!
I've always wanted to try the Early Times BiB but I've never seen it on a shelf.
It’s definitely getting harder to find in our area. We have 1 store that consistently has it though. Cheers🥃!!!
I would like to see these under $30 bourbons blinded.
But I do have a strong preference for it to be shown on the screen what it is you're tasting so that we know what it is while you're giving your tasting notes.
And if each of you is going to have a separate set of tasting glasses I would like for them to be matching so that, for example, when you're both tasting Glass A, it's the same thing in both glasses.
Absolutely, mainly just waiting on more glens. Then we will will be able to both do the blinds. Cheers🥃!!!
Great choices. My favorite “daily sipper” is Early Times BIB. I have 8 bottles with the black cap bunkered. I use Buffalo Trace as a primer bourbon. The only bottle I would change on your list…I would swap Evan Williams 1783 for the WT 101. 🥃
Unfortunately we hopped on the Early Times train too late and all the black caps are long gone. Is that Evan Williams the American Hero Edition? From what I’ve heard that one is better. Cheers🥃!!!
Interesting that people always talk about the “black cap” early times. There are actually two different bottles with a “black cap” and I’ve blinded many people with all three offerings.
@@StraightUpSips The regular 1783 is good, but the Heroes Edition is better. 🥃
Just using your requirements of $30 or under…..
1. Knob Creek
2. WT101
3. Benchmark Fullproof
4.Early Times BIB
5.Balcones Bourbon
I have to throw one in from Texas, while it’s not for everyone. The Balcones bourbon is inexpensive and not offensive to most palettes.
Coopers Craft 100 missed the mark by $5. Elijah Craig is just not top 5 for me but would be ahead of ALL Evan Williams. I’d suggest adding J.T.S. Brown BIB (MUCH better than the 80 proof) yes, I know Kentucky only or the more available sibling JW Dant BIB. Lastly Very Old Barton at any proof is a real sleeper (even though I haven’t ever found the 90 proof, it just gets positive reviews).
That’s a great list, we don’t find knob creek here for less than 35 for some reason. I have yet to find the full proof but we are definitely looking for it. Very old Barton is one I really want and I’d love to do a review on it. Cheers🥃!!!
The JTS Brown BIB is making it's way out of Kentucky. I can regularly find it here in Arkansas.
