This fall, I started to learn too many long pieces, the first movement of Rachmaninoff’s concerto being one of them. This as well as another concerto for my school orchestra made it difficult to record pieces for this channel. I might have switched my attention to these pieces too soon, but they are so beautiful, I could not resist starting to learn them… Again, thank you so much for your message! Wonderful performance! Volodos has some extraordinary transcriptions of songs by Rachmaninoff, which I think you might enjoy learning (Melodiya and Zdes khorosho, for example). I think you could also do justice to Rachmaninoff's remarkable transcriptions of Kreisler's music. Liebesfreud is a virtuosic masterpiece filled with daring moments that require big sound and boldness. Hope you don't mind these suggestions!
