Thank you for the great tutorial ❤️ I made a pair using my old jeans and tested them today - they're awesome :) I can also confirm that using a few strips of 3/4" elastic bands also works. Thank you again, I can't wait to make more! ☺️
Now that I know how difficult this is I won't be surprised anymore by the high prices this stuff has xD
Thank you kindly for explaining ALLLLLL the steps. I made a pair and they are totally functional and still pretty (despite my dart marks showing through). I really appreciate the share.
I wanted to thank you!!! I have never sewed buuut I tried and followed step by step your tutorial and I managed it !!! Ain’t perfect but I love them! Thank you for this video 🥰
I'm so glad it worked for you!

This is such an amazing video thank you! It's totally inspired me to make my own shoe protectors now😊
This is amazing! Thank you so much! Definitely doing that for my pleasers
Great video thank you I made my own slightly modified as didn't use elastic but the pattern tip was a big help thank you!!😊
These ones are just amazing! 🤩💖
I tried to make something similar but it was no way as good as yours, they look fantastic, thank you so much for sharing this!
Wow, so interesting to watch. Love diy projects! A bit fast for a beginner but will definitely give it a try once my pleasers arrive ❤️
These are so cute and thoughtful! I love them!
Thank u so much. This is so helpful and u explained it so well 😍 I'mma try it

Thank you! I'm so happy so many other dancers also sew and craft!
Thank you it’s amazing, and make realize I’m just gonna buy it online lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love it! I have a question actually: Can I use just one layer of vinyl without another layer of cover fabric?
I wondered that too
Yesssss thank you ! I needed this and definitely going to try!
Thank you!!!
This is amazing!
This is amazing! Thank you!!
I'm excited to try this pattern when my boots arrive!!
Do you have any recommendations for fabric? I know I want it to be durable, but also maybe slide-y?
Thanks so much for this awesome and clear video! It's almost the only tutorial around but it's SO clear and also gives a lot of insight into pattern making! I love it :)
Sorry! I didn't see this sooner. I've been sticking to pleathers, although the minky rainbow fabric I used worked out really well.
Do you ever have a problem with the cover sliding off when you dance? Just checking in before I actually go and get some fabric :) Super excited to protect my new shoes!
As long as you sew the cover nice and snug I don't think so! None of the ones I've made have ever come off and it's usually quite a workout to even get them on!
Thank you so much!! Can’t wait to make them :)
Wow ! U are amazing ! Hope i have skill to make this
Will these protectors also work for patent sandals?
I really enjoyed watching your video. Those shoes look very nice. My wife has a lot of 8 and 10 inch platform heels and she wears them every day.
Dope!!!!!
I’m working on making these right now and the platform part doesn’t seem to lay as flat as yours. I mean I am new at sewing so maybe that’s the problem.
thank you so much! just bought two pairs of pleasers and will be trying this. have you ever tried with clear vinyl?
I just tried it with clear vinyl and. it worked! modified the instructions so it's only 1 layer.
Ok but do you have any for sell?? Lol
This definitely challenged my sewing skills but they turned out great!
Have a look on my Instagram at @pole.life_lia
I used velcro instead of elastic. And curtain underlay instead of the vinyl as that's what I had lying around ☺️
Can I use a cheap sewing machine or it has to have a specific thing?
Any machine will do. Cheaper ones may just have a harder time with thick fabrics.
Hey there, was all the fabric you used stretchy? I think of vinyl as stiff not stretchy, so I was wondering if you use stretch vinyl and stretch pleather? These look amazing, and I can't wait to sew them up!
I think stretch pleather would be a bit tricky. I used marine vinyl for the base and a decorative vinyl for the top. Only the elastic stretches!
@@toriander1080 Ahhh, makes sense. Thanks a million mate! :)
I tried to make these but struggled with getting them to fit the shoe the way yours do, I think my pattern making went a bit wrong. Do you have a downloadable pattern by any chance? Thanks!
At this time I don't as there is so much variance between shoe brand, size and platform height. But I really want to make a pattern for the big brands in several sizes!
@@toriander1080 I simplified your design a LOT and I'm part way through something that might work! But pdfs of patterns for pleaser + hella would be insane!!♥️
What kind of textile did you use?
Two vinyls. I like to use scrap vinyl as a nice sturdy base but the fashion fabric can be anything.
Thank you for the video. I made the covers. Should I make a pattern for a right and left . Because I made just one pattern for both feet and looks a bit different from the left boot.
You only need to copy one shoe, but you need to make sure you make a mirror image of each piece for the other shoe!
@@toriander1080 thank you for the feedback. I need to see what I did wrong. When you say mirror do you mean the exact copy or reverse.Sorry if I am sounding stupid.
@@GraceAndBlessings1906 Yes, it means the reverse image and you don’t sound stupid, every sewer has to figure it out somehow. I figured out the hard way with a mask pattern and cut out two right sides 😆
Edit: actually typing which of the two options because I didn’t absorb it was an either or not yes or no question. Sorry!
Nice tutorial, where did you buy the fabric?
The purple metallic was just from Joann about a year ago. Not sure if they would still have it.
That doesnt look like vinyl. Vinyl is way more sturdy... so what kind of fabric is this?
The backing fabric is vinyl as stated, the metallic fashion fabric is a thin metallic vinyl as well. There are many kinds of vinyl. The backing fabric I used was a thick marine vinyl.
@@toriander1080 I realized at the fabric store you were using vinyl and the fabric not just vinyl, I don't know how i missed the vinyl and thought you were just working with the fabric, I think because its black I thought it was the back of that other fabric! Oops
Fuck thank you! Jesus thank you so much!
I'm glad you like it!!
This was so helpful! Going to try this today! ☺️
