I went into doing this song nervous thinking that the melody and chords would only really work on vocals, and man was I mistaken. I've been doing all of my Persona 5 covers as instrumental versions for the people out there who enjoy the music, but want to jam to it while they're studying or working so it's been interesting seeing what works and what doesn't as far as these tracks go. As I said on the Take Over cover, I'm still amazed at how much these tracks compare and in some ways surpass the original soundtrack for Persona 5!
Sterling by Music Man was very generous and sent me the new Richardson 7 model to try out and do a few projects with. That's what I'm using for rhythms for this cover. I'll probably look into the other options of it after I send it back to them since I really love the cutlass model, and having the custom from one of my favorite guitarists would be perfect! I love the coil split on it which I used for the Life Will Change riff and would love a 6 string version that has that sound!
The guitar is amazing and very affordable compared to the other Music Man guitars I've shown so definitely take a look if you're in the market for one! In the meantime, I really hope you enjoy what I did with this track, I'm extremely proud of how this one turned out and I hope you like it!

Even the lyrics to the song make this song feel like a sequel to life will change as well. Part of the lyrics are "I thought that I told you I'm not a robot, no

The lyrics also reference Life Will Change. In the second verse, Lyn sings "I thought that I told you I'm not a robot, no. I thought I told you I'm not a phantom I'm in your face."
It is seriously cool how Lotus Juice writes the lyrics for the music that Shoji Meguro composes. On top of that Lyn is seriously talented. They are all legends.
It's basically a follow up to life with change, just like Throw away your mask is the final bosses answer.

No but seriously, that's basically what it is. The lyrics of LWC wouldn't make sense in the context of this area; and as a battle of positive ideals, I Believe is basically the final form of the theme of the Phantom Thieves. The core of who they are and what they're fighting for, even moreso than just changing the hearts of the corrupt
Imagine being a character with like 4 to 5 themes specifically for yourself

The lyrics literally reference Life Will Change just as the guitar does. The chorus is basically I believe I told you "insert lyric from life will change", it's a reply which makes sense since Maruki will stop life form changing.
It's also an answer to Throw Away Your Mask, because that song asks us to "Believe in me..." and then in the last phase of the fight this song answers "I believe we can fly..." and I thought that was brilliant
The titles of both songs also fit together very nicely and complete the statement the Phantom Thieves are making. I Believe Life Will Change.

I actually just finished P5R yesterday.
P5R managed to take a perfect game with a perfect soundtrack and make it even better.
And as usual, a glorious cover FamilyJules.
Honestly its a game that takes another game with few flaws, some that I noticed and some I didn't, and improves them evem more.
I swear when this music kicked in during the game I shat my pants.
They took a 10/10 game and made it an 11/10 game.
The moment when I Believe plays in-game followed by Throw Your Mask Away = fucking incredible.
Bruh you havent finished persona 5 Royal until you can start NG+ for the third time. Its worth it though, i can never get tired of the music

Man, I was so happy I went into P5R with zero spoilers outside of the third semester existing. I'd already Platinum'ed the original, so I knew how the story flowed there, but when this kicked in at THAT point of the story...man, it was such a wild trip. It fit so damn perfectly.

The OST for Royal is amazing, I didn't think it would be possible to top the original but this and a few others blew me away
New best song in the game? New best song in the game. Rivers was _almost_ not dethroned, but they used it in the wrong place two or three different times in Royal. And when this swells up in the final leg, it was really beautiful.

I love the sound of the Richardson 7 for the rhythm guitars, there's a noticeably different sound from your normal rhythm guitars and it's a refreshing change! I hope you get to hold onto that one since it's really good. The cover itself is awesome too, I love me some P5 instrumentals!

It's a really good cover, and i'm glad no one tried to sing it because to me every time people try to do a singing cover of a persona song they just sound very not good, sorta the same for instrumental covers but you guys did an instrumental really really good
I have to say, I'm generally less of a fan of battle themes in games vs character themes and incidental music but when I first hear this in Royal it was inspiring!

P5R feels much more better than the original game, and all things of the last palace really caused a heartbreak in me. So many tears dropped in a last bossfight. Amazing game, love it.

If I had one complaint it would actually be the final boss. It was really only one phase of an actual boss fight (which wasn't that hard) followed by 3 phases which were basically cutscenes. Wasn't as climactic as I wanted but still a fantastic game.
