A traditional proverb from my homeland puts it succinctly: 'As long as there are sheep, there will be shearing.' It aptly captures the idea that as long as consumers are willing to pay, prices will stay elevated and increase. Consumer willingness to pay fuels price hikes 🤷🏻♀️
The sheep, believing that if they pay x10 the price, they're getting the best, it's rarely the case, but so long as the sheep keep following each other, they'll continue to be shorn of their $$$$ 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’m a huge lux makeup consumer & for the last couple months I’ve been over it. The quality of new items released does not justify the price increase…so I’ll use what I have in the meantime.
Me too!! I also find that the quality of any new release that I buy seems to be just a little bit worse than the release before. Unless you are an artist like Sofia that applies her makeup so magnificently all the new eye or blush releases look the same! There are only so many variations they can come up with!
I would like brands to have fewer collections throughout the year, but that they are special, luxurious, and that the quality and packaging are on point. Like, for example, CDP Beauty & Byredo. 🤷🏻♀️
I so agree with you! I find myself going back to the eyeshadows I already own instead of buying these new ones. Instead of buying the new Chanel warm eyeshadow, I got out my Dior red tartan pallette last night and created a beautiful look with the 3 neutral (browns and peachy pink) colors.
I totally agree with you. I think Chanel has lost their way. I don't understand who their target market is. And the quality is not what it used to be. (Still loving Hermes, though!)
I love luxury makeup and my favorite brands are Chanel and Chantecaille. I used to buy more Chanel before the Collective took over; I feel they’re trying too hard with gimmicks now and color stories that don’t work for my very fair, cool toned complexion (BR12). As far as Chantecaille is concerned, I still like a lot of their products, but they’ve gone nuts with their pricing! The new duo eye shadow palettes would have been in my collection already, but the size of the product and their price point has me waiting for a big sale, even though I might miss out on them. I’ll live…Oh, and Guerlain’s colors are awful right now and I’m boycotting their new Rouge G lipsticks. I’ll admit I did buy the Chantecaille Cheetah eye shadow and 2 lipsticks from that collection as well as two of the new Chanel cream to powder blushes, which are excellent. Summary: I’m way more deliberate with my purchases. Great video today!
I don’t know what happened with Chanel. They didn’t even bother with a pink undertone shade range for their latest foundation. And if I see ONE MORE ORANGEY RED…. !! No medium pinks?? Mauves?? Medium cool-toned brownish pinks? Sigh. I think they are straight up going for the Asian markets and us rosy-cheeked, fair-skinned people can just give it up.
So glad you mentioned the Makeup By Mario lipsticks. I agree wholeheartedly. Some of the best lipstick formulas on the market - bar none. And Mario's packaging is really nice - magnetic closure and everything.
Totally agree with you! I feel like 3 years ago you would feel the difference with luxury makeup, but today you can find really good options not as expensive. Glad you talked about it!
kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the *yutulu* book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
I agree so much and I’m mostly a luxury shopper. I do think it’s going to get worse now because Chanel and other luxury brands aren’t doing as well financially and have much more competition. Their strategy appears to be cutting back instead of innovation. It’s interesting that Prada isn’t giving us a dozen palettes but a handful with a fantastic formulas even with exciting color stories and pops of color. Paying top dollar for lesser quality is ridiculous 😡
Hi Sofia I agree with you about the Chanel eye palettes and blushes…they have been awful over the last few months. I think it was since the new collective of designers have been on board. When I think of the beautiful Mediterranean palette of a few years ago there is no comparison or even that amazing blush and highlighter Fleur du Printemps gorgeous…nothing compares anymore🙋♀️🇬🇧
I went thru a phase where I bought a ton of luxury makeup.. and I still have so much left 😢 especially eye shadow. So I won’t be buying anymore anytime soon. Aside from that, I’m disappointed in the prices going up. I love luxury makeup, but even I have a limit on how much I’m willing to spend
Aaah, who doesn't love a good quick rant! :))) Totally agree with you. Moreover, Chanel never has discounts and prices only go up with worse quality... makes no sense. At least Dior finally changed their packaging for the holiday collection. Chanel did not spend on that too. I'm personally not drawn to them neither for quality, nor for color stories.
I love the Tom ford eyeliner. I think it’s $50! Now I need to grabby that irresistible lip too! Thank you beautiful Sofia for such sensible reviews of lots of my fomo new new. ❤
My favourite lipsticks are Sisley Le Phyto Rouge, satin, very hydrating, and they last all day. I’ve noticed you review all luxury makeup, except Sisley, and it’s a great makeup brand, highly recommend:)
Love the Hermes quad and the look you created with it. I am tempted. Agree with you on the crazy prices. Too much for my wallet. Have a happy day. As usual I love and enjoy your videos. 😊❤
I really appreciate your honesty. I always am impressed with your videos but this one in particular is really helpful. While I’m a very conscientious person when it comes to my makeup spend, I realized I already spent too much money on makeup this year and it’s still September. :( I’d probably be shocked of the amount of money you invested. Thank you for the hardwork. ❤
The lavender shade powder or primer, was first created by Japanese cosmetics company cater to yellowish, dull skin. When you have fair skin, it only make it more fairer
I bought the Hermes palette. As someone who loves green eyeshadow, I couldn't resist. It should be here soon. Oh, I did buy quite a bit of Chanel lately including the 2 Fall palettes. We'll see... You are right about the constant orange blushes, which is why I opted out.
I certainly believe you spent that much $$$$. You are not alone. I am guilty of buying 2 of the new $200 Chanel lipsticks. They are safely in a cabinet. I hope I remember to use them.
I am getting over luxury makeup. That’s all I bought years ago but no more. Think they are looking at us now as a cash cow😢. Thank you for your video and honesty❤
This is my first comment on any RUclips page. Thank you for sharing your impressions of the Chanel fall collection. I have purchased many products and I’m glad they have the orange blushes as I believe they show best on deeper/darker skin tones like mine. Many of the blushes I have purchased from the brand are always too light and ashy and these current colors work well for me.
Beautiful looks Sofia. I’m not into these Chanel palettes at all and definitely no on the matte blushes. I did get 3 of the new Chanel crème to powder blushes that you recommended and they are pretty great. I’m tempted by the Hermes eye shadow. Only because I recently bought the bronzer (totally influenced by Nikki LaRose) and I love it!! Best bronzer ever! It’s like silk going on the skin. This makes me want to try their eye shadows since you like them so much.
I prefer the single shade Chanel eyeshadow. Anastasia BH Glam pallet is my go to. Hermes lipstick has refills so it is worth the price. The case is amazing and sturdy.
You are so spot on with your analysis!! I returned my Chanel Divination. It was dusty! I like that they did something different and want to support that, but the quality stunk imo. I wish they had used the matte formula of the Eclat de Nuit quad. That would have been amazing. It would have been great to have a brown blush instead of another orange-and I love orange blush! I bought the fall Hermes palette and all 3 lipsticks-I love it all! I probably shouldn’t have gotten the golden balm…but I regret nothing! 😂😂😂 I have one of the new Tom Ford lipsticks in Understated. The shade is beautiful BUT I hate the way it wears. It may just be me, but it wears off my lips in a patchy way. I’ve tried no primer, different primers, lip pencil, no pencil …it still does it. I much prefer the reformatted Dior satins or the Mario. They wear beautifully! You mentioned that the TF is more sheer than the Mario, so maybe that’s why it wears off me in an unflattering way. I haven’t tried the TF lip liners. Pat McGrath, CT, and About Face (Yes, About Face) are my 3 DO NOT BUDGE lipliners. I’ll stick with them, I think. You did save me from lip liner FOMO!! 😂😂💕💕
Yeah I wish I could return at least one of them. I am not sure if I can do that lol but it's ok. Yes they have some nice matte formulas so I am not sure why they didn't replicate those
This same realization hit me hard this week when I picked up a NYX Buttermelt bronzer at Ulta on a whim. And guess what? For $10 it's the best matching bronzer I've ever tried - at any price point. So much of luxury makeup is really not a luxury product, nor is purchasing it a luxury experience anymore. I'm still a sucker for great packaging and exclusive colors, but some luxury brands just aren't cutting it anymore.
I love love love makeup. I’ve been in my dressing room just swatching and playing. I have a fairly large collection so I like to spend time, when I am not on a time frame, building looks and layering various textures - otherwise, when the work days roll back in, I will grab the same ole same for fear of the look turning to chaos with too little time to fix it. Doing this also reminds me of how much I already have so I will slow down on buying. If I were someone who was going to buy just one great lip liner and one lipstick, one blush/bronzer palette and one or two amazing eyeshadow palettes, spending $50+ for a liner, that admittedly is amazing, would be fine for me. If I were that diligent to buying only one really lux item in each category and using it until it’s gone, then it would still be well spent. I do really love the quality of Tom Ford lipsticks but there are several other options that are really nice as well. The Merit lipsticks, the Hourglass lipsticks, and the Mario lipsticks are all great. The new ones from Nars are super nice too. I find myself using my MUA focused makeup as much as my lux though - the performance is just so reliable and priced much better. Viseart eyeshadows are the best performing eyeshadows I own. My Ben Nye blushes- color payoff last all day.
Great discussion Sofia! I feel the prices are out of hand with a lot of the luxury beauty companies. Also, I’m not enjoying much of the launches that Chanel is firing out. Okay the latest looks like a compilation with a Scooby doo episode. I realize they are trying to get the new generations attention, but my daughter at 15 cannot afford to buy their products. I miss the older colour stories from back in the early 2000’s they had beautiful ideas back then. I too feel tired of the red and orange colours along with the dusty next to nil colour pay off. Oh well, we shall see what comes next! Take care! Have a good rest of the week 😊
You’re right about the Chanel fall collection. I just recently got the green and purple eyeshadow quad. I was hoping the colors would be more brighter, but they do look really faded.😫At least I can wear this to work since the color is barley there 😅
I really wanted to buy it because the color are a bit unique for Chanel and I like to collect the seasonal stuff but I don't know if it's really worth it now.
Thank you for the Chanel review! I had the “boring” eyeshadow palette in my cart and I took it out!! I did however go get the Dior holiday palette and lippy 🤣🤣
One quick comment: purples usually work the best with olive undertones. Looks like Sofia you have pink undertone, which is probably why lavender blush looks ashy on you.
I do love the undertone of the green that is in the Chanel palette better than other greens that I have and would purchase it if it were a single color but the remainder of the palette is just meh to me. I love luxury beauty but I have paired back my purchases dramatically this year and doubt that I will even be a rouge next year, LOL! Surprisingly, for someone who wouldn't really even look at drugstore makeup, I have found some wonderful products that rival the high end, at my local CVS. I have a new found appreciation for NYX and love their lip liners and Lip Lingerie lipsticks. I think that as luxury beauty prices have surpassed reasonable price points and their quality has become questionable, it has allowed drugstore brands to close the gap and I don't feel the need anymore to whip open my purse and put an Hermes lipstick on just to show off my Hermes tube! Having said that, I might pick up the Hermes e/s quad because I do like those colors all together. We will see!! Deborah
Last year, I had the same bad experience when I bought the limited edition of the YSL eyeshadow palette. It was so bad, so much fallout, felt like drugstore makeup, but I could not toss it away cause the packaging was so nice. Luxury makeup should treat us better with the quality to justify the price we pay.
OMG, I love this video. LOVE that you’re “DE-influencing!” I did buy the TF lipliners, and the new lipstick shade West Coast, because I was influenced by @allfeisty ! (Dang you, Boston! 😅 I’m just teasing you Jennifer! Love your content!) I can afford it, but still feel I should not be spending like this as I didn’t get anything particularly special from them really! Maybe because I don’t have dry skin tho. They’re fine but as you said, prob not worth the price! But I’m feeling the way about a lot of things lately! Love your comparisons and that you’re sharing your thoughts along with less expensive alternatives! Keep up the good work! ❤
I have spent Beaucoup Bucks on Luxury skin care and makeup, and over the years I realized a was a snob about drugstore products and wouldn't even try them. Well, I began to try them, and came home with bags and bags of makeup to try. I was surprised to find some really, really good drugstore products, such as Cetaphil and La Roche Posay skin care, and a lot of great drugstore makeup from Revlon, L'Oreal, Physician's Formula, CoverGirl, etc. I love my Dior, products but the Revlon Illuminance Foundation is exceptional and I will not be repurchasing the Dior. It is worth exploring the other whole World of Makeup and Skin Care from the drug store.
Thank you for being so honest! I totally respect your opinion. I did buy the Chanel Mardi Gras inspired palette just because the color story spoke to me I am okay with a sheer wash of color. The blushes were quick no. Lavender doesn't show up on me even though i am very fair ( I a back to my true blonde hair color) and i dislike orange blush. I wear nude or pink colors. I have the Hermes quad in my cart and I might just pull the trigger on that one.
Sofia please please review the new Danessa Myricks lightwork 6 freedom palette, It's been a while I'm following you and I'm in love with your swatches and paying attention to the details❤❤
I bought the Hermes palette and the two lipsticks. The palette is my kind of color story, and the packaging on the lipsticks gets me. rouge Nappa looks better on me than Beige Doblis, though. I picked up the cream Tom Ford eyeliner, and it is amazing on the waterline. Expensive, but worth it to me. I love the color story of the Chanel purple/green palette, but I need better quality. Like you said, I have those colors elsewhere. Thanks for the honest reviews!
Hi Sofia, Thanks for your honest Review❤ I am also so disappointed by the chanel Palette with the green and Lilac shades. The formula is horrible. Can you please do a Video on your favourite Lipliners?
Excellent video content. You showed courage and honesty, both which I do appreciate. Thank you Sofia..the lux brands should listen too. We are living in rough times, the groceries and all has skyrocketted, maybe I wouldn't eat brioches just right now. Almost 50 $ for a lipliner, no matter how good it is, it is out of the current context and personally I, as a consumer, feel understimated. A sort of bad joke. Already the beauty industry is forcing upon us the 100 m sprint to buy, not surely to be gifted of get them free, the infamous holiday releases. A part the sense and meaning of Christman, which has nothing in common with luxury, I refuse to sprint to get the holiday Prada eyequad. I can live without. To take away the joy, anticipation, the planned gifts, it is an idea that will backfire in the long run. Not the best strategy, but if those Houses are applying it, it means they can afford and are willing to lose clients, many clients. It is too risky in my opinion.
I’m wondering if Chanel is making these formulas because they are prioritizing a very specific segment of the Asian market where light pigment in eyeshadow formulas is desirable?
Yes! Merit lipsticks are the best! I discovered them a month ago when I was looking for a fall color. I picked up L’Avenue and it is gorgeous. I’m pretty sure this is the most comfortable lipstick I’ve ever had. I bought a Tom Ford lipstick the same day and I barely use it, but I’ve since bought two more Merit lipsticks in Tiger and Maison. These somehow have a way of feeling hydrating without being too slippy, and then drying down to a nice matte that stays on for hours. Don’t sleep on these. I’m going back to get the color Baby soon. Great video! ❤
Thank you for not just gushing over all the designer brands… The Tom Ford lip liners are great however it’s almost identical to Charlotte Tilburry however love the TF liquid lipstick and Gucci formulas… I’m kinda disappointed in the TF eye liners… the liquid double sided is the BEST liner ever… the new ones are not better than Hourglass & so much more money. I did grab the Hermes quad .. however my favorite blues are the quad from Cledepeau so pretty! Sorry to ramble just appreciate you! Love&Light from California 🤍🤍
THANKS SO MUCH for your wonderful reviews, and for purchasing so many high end products to spare us from doing the same. The lavender blush is definitely not for you. It made you look like you had a bruise on your cheeks! You look great in just about everything else, formulas aside. Would love a review of metalic, foil, sparkly shadows that don't have a ton of fall out. I have a few palettes, ND and Nars being two, and the fallout from the ND shadows is HORRIBLE. I don't want flakes of sparkle all over my cheeks. I apply correctly with my finger or brushes, and with a primer... but it's on my cheeks in not time. THANKS MUCH.
I am a stricter judge of luxury makeup than I am of a drugstore brand. The formula, packaging and colour have to be exactly right. It’s my money ❤ I tend to prefer the mid-luxury brands. I am flirting more with Asian brands than with French fashion houses these days.
Thanks for another very honest salty video dear Sofia!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩 Chanel, a big no for the theme, so that's easy, Hermes, i have 1 eyeshadow quad from them, it's nice. But my Suqqu quads i really use!!! Lipsticks/liners i hate, having dry lips. But do i love luxury makeup? Yessss!!! Do we exhaust the planet? Yesss......i must do better, expensive or less expensive products. I already do, the last 2 years, but still can do a lot better!! Wishing you a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘
I do love the Hermes lipsticks and think they are worth it bc they don’t dry up on my dry lips. The Merit is very nice but does go dry on me. I’m very curious about the Mario and will try that one next.
While I did like the Tom Ford lipstick, you are right the Makeup by Mario is better and actually the Elizabeth Arden lipsticks are even better. Elizabeth Arden isn't quite so regarded, but I enjoy their products.
I’ve found that the Lisa Eldridge Insanely Saturated lippies are a straight formula dupe to my matte Hermes lipsticks. Unfortunately the colour range is terrible, but it’s pretty incredible to see something so comparable for half the cost. Even the packaging has the gratifying magnetic closure.
Just saw the eye and cheek palette from Chanel Holiday collection. 😳 My opinion is: Not even for free!😁 Fuchsia pink, bright mauve and mustard orange are never on my wish list for eyeshadows/blushes.😂 Definitely is something different and I am sure many people will appreciate this. I do appreciate but in a different way. All these 2024 Holiday collections (Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Guerlain, YSL and few others) help me to save a lot of money. TF Soleil Neige eyeshadow quad is still on my radar but the quality must be exceptional. I am a bit disappointed that you didn’t do a dedicated review for Hermes limited edition collection. I was expected to see at least 2 looks with the eyeshadow quad. But I understand the reason: you will never get the same number of views like with this video today because Hermes is way too expensive even for luxury makeup consumers.
There is nothing wrong with spending your hard earned money on things you wanted to spend it on. We are all adults. We can make our own choices. 99% of the time, I don't regret my luxury makeup purchases. The 1% that I do regret buying, I just simply return. No big deal. I'm here to say that it is OKAY to splurge on yourself if you have the means and desires to do so. I truly hope some of you will see where I'm coming from here too.
I’ve been waiting for your review !!! I love Hermes cosmetics ❤ I’m in Canada so the limited edition quad is $143 with the lipsticks being $99 and nail polishes $66 😆 sooooo much money but I ordered. I ended up just getting the Ombré Fumee quad , Nappa lips and bleu agate nail polish .. I NEED the limited eye quad 😂😂😂
Personally I love more the formula of this chanel tarot blush versus the winter glow blushes. I like that matte blurry not hardly pressed . It looks very nice on the skin. Kinda like the matte guerlain blushes. In general the blushes on skin are pretty quite repetitive in color. However, i much enjoyed the beautiful cream blushes they released. I for one feel that Chanel is getting out of boredomland . Hits and misses but it's a bit more creative. How do you like the purples in the tarot vs lilas poudre? I personally don't have any more purples in a palette ( my old huda was old 😂 ) However to me purples, green are more suited to singles and / or colorful liners to accent a look, so I'm in no hurry for this quad
I really like a lot of the fun colors and new concepts I just wish some of the formulas were different. The blush formula feels really nice. The lilas eyeshadow is a lot darker and more pigmented
Have you tried the Sisley lip liners? They’re even more expensive but apparently very nice. My friend raves about the one in Chocolat. I’ve yet to indulge!
Ty Sofia! Buried the Lavender in store. It looked awful on me; totally washed out!! Great video! Hermes looks beautiful but way overpriced! I'll look at Prada and others referenced!😮😮😮😮 I'm interested in the TF lip products but for$62.00?😅😅😅😅😂
I passed on all of the Chanel fall collection. I just didn’t find it appealing. I’m going back and forth on the Hermes palette. Did pick up a lipstick in rouge napa and it’s really a pretty and wearable red shade. Waiting for the TF winter collection. Wanting to try the lip pencils. Nothing ground breaking with TF lipsticks and agree, it’s overpriced for what it is but I did get one in west coast and enjoy it. Thanks for the video
I agree with the Chanel eyeshadow palettes. I got the purple/green Divination palette and I was disappointed because it was so dry. I had to get it because I don’t have any cool lavender/purple duo shades. The colors are nice, but they are not luxury quality. Also I don’t get Chanel’s obsession with orange blushes either. Chanel had that awful limited pouch collection, and they keep releasing products that are not really classy at all.
Yeah they could've made the blood orange blush a nude or a pink or something that's considered more wearable, but that wouldn't go with the theme of fall/Halloweenish collection, this collection is beautiful & the formula in the blushes is so creamy so smooth & I think the eyeshadow formula is also smooth & nice...I'm glad Chanel did something different and unique bc we can get all the everyday colors anywhere anytime but this is totally different & I think it's fun as well so we don't get bored..the blush formula on these is so amazing that I'm actually considering getting a backup of the lavender shade..if it's 2 light 4 u u can use it as an eyeshadow,it's very pretty on the eyes & is lighter than any purple or lavender eyeshadow u probably have so I like it that way,but I also like it as a blush topper on the cream to powder blushes specifically the granat profund,it's beautiful over that blush,I also like it on the tips of my nose & chin..if ur creative & u look at makeup as artistic expression as well as improving ur appearance,u will find fun & interesting ways 2 incorporate this unique collection in ur makeup routine or just something different 4 once in awhile.
I skipped Chanel fall. Love Hermes fall quad. Now lipsticks. I am little bit disappointed. I got burgundy one, it’s not really so dramatic. I might still keep it, cause I do like that interesting texture, and can be worn as stain. So it’s great to wear as addition to fall makeup, but definitely not a star, like wearing as a main focus., like Chanel 31 Le rouge in 2.55 , from last year. I just picked up, and I love it, it’s dramatic, but still very wearable. I thought that it’s cool tone, but on me, it’s quite warm, and the color is just perfect, not that brownish burgundy, which is a big no on my complexion 🤪 I have enough lipsticks, especially reds, so I am not buying anymore , well at least this year lol Lip liners, I don’t really use them. I have a few from Chanel, but my favorite is Lisa Eldridge new one in 2c paired with Chanel 6 a.m lipstick Have a blessed day🙏❤️
Sounds like a rant. Can’t say that I blame you. Regarding the Chanel eyeshadow palette, I believe the desaturation is by design because Chanel has had pigmented products. I believe the beauty of the palette is in the layering. The green layered over the darker purple->violet which is stunning with the amethyst liner. Also, the darker purple layered over the lilac color creates a more pigmented purple. With an unconventional color story, I believe the brand wanted a buildable formula.
I agree! And the eye crayons from the summer launch pair well with the fall eyeshadows. Chanel needs to produce more informative videos on how to use the products as they did in the past with Lucia Pica. Chanel has grown lazy with cranking out mass amounts of "limited edition" rather informative videos. They also seem to rely upon influencers.....and don't support many if any. Free marketing.

Agreed. I don’t think consumers are willing to collectively protest or boycott. Consuming is so ingrained now….😢 they wouldn’t handle it.
The sheep, believing that if they pay x10 the price, they're getting the best, it's rarely the case, but so long as the sheep keep following each other, they'll continue to be shorn of their $$$$ 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@lynettefinnigan9540 aint that the truth...thats why luxury brands are getting hit at the moment...LVMH, looking at you and Chanel!!
I agree with you Petra
I so agree with you! I find myself going back to the eyeshadows I already own instead of buying these new ones. Instead of buying the new Chanel warm eyeshadow, I got out my Dior red tartan pallette last night and created a beautiful look with the 3 neutral (browns and peachy pink) colors.
I totally agree with you. I think Chanel has lost their way. I don't understand who their target market is. And the quality is not what it used to be. (Still loving Hermes, though!)
That was an epic rant girl!!! I truly love your videos so very much ANNND the honesty level is off the charts!
I'm boycotting Guerlain cases & lipstick, too.
Chanel tends to get stuck on a single color...for yearssss 😂 Remember all of the reds? Now it's orange. Loved this video!
Lucia Pica has a thing about red!
Well I hope we are done with the reds lol!
Yes! Even many of the new matte liquid lips are orange!
Yup the oranges are awful !
Sofia, you are the best beauty you tuber, you think of your viewers and care about us, its clear from your content! Thank you, God Bless You 😊
So glad you mentioned the Makeup By Mario lipsticks.
Wow. I am thoroughly impressed by the honesty of this video. Your level headed review of these products is refreshing and oh so useful. Thank you!
The lavender blush on my pale skin looks pink, I love it. Maybe it depends on the skin tone as well as undertone
kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the *yutulu* book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!!
Hi Sofia
I agree with you about the Chanel eye palettes and blushes…they have been awful over the last few months. I think it was since the new collective of designers have been on board. When I think of the beautiful Mediterranean palette of a few years ago there is no comparison or even that amazing blush and highlighter Fleur du Printemps gorgeous…nothing compares anymore🙋♀️🇬🇧
I don't mind the creative colors I just want the formulas to be silky and not dusty or glittery :)
Agree! It’s refreshing to hear this.
Totally agree with you.
I totally agree, especially about Chanel’s Fall Collection. I’ve been enjoying my Chanel palettes that I already have.
The lavender shade powder or primer, was first created by Japanese cosmetics company cater to yellowish, dull skin. When you have fair skin, it only make it more fairer
You give the best reviews!
Thanks!
Love your personality, love your nails and I need the Hermes eyeshadow palette.🥰
Love your makeup here. Suits you so well.
Thank you for the list of the lipstick dupes.
I recommend the new Glossier lipliners. They're FANTASTIC & like $23.
I am getting over luxury makeup. That’s all I bought years ago but no more. Think they are looking at us now as a cash cow😢. Thank you for your video and honesty❤
I appreciate your honesty! You are by far the most credible! I notice the inconsistency too especially the blushes of Chanel are not good
This is my first comment on any RUclips page.
Thanks for sharing that with us!
Final look is stunning though! Looks great on you.
Thank you!
In Canada, the TF lipsticks are $80(!), and the lip liners are $62. *$62!!! For a pencil!?!* Count me out.
💀💀
In Australia the lip liners are $65 & eye liners $85. It's absolutely nuts!
I prefer the single shade Chanel eyeshadow. Anastasia BH Glam pallet is my go to. Hermes lipstick has refills so it is worth the price. The case is amazing and sturdy.
Ah dusty...not a good word.
I have a crush on the Initiation palette, had a crush...
Thank you Sofia.
I have one of the new Tom Ford lipsticks in Understated.
Yes they have some nice matte formulas so I am not sure why they didn't replicate those
thanks for your honest review!
You wear well the Divination palette, it suits you.
Thank you Sofia for your video. I like TF lipstick and eyeshadow. Have a nice day.
The TF lip liners are $65 Australian & the eyeliners are $85 !!! Prices have gotten out of control.
Deborah
Hermes nailed the fall collection they look tempting ❤
Last year, I had the same bad experience when I bought the limited edition of the YSL eyeshadow palette. It was so bad, so much fallout, felt like drugstore makeup, but I could not toss it away cause the packaging was so nice. Luxury makeup should treat us better with the quality to justify the price we pay.
I bought that Fall Chanel quad…..absolutely no pigment to it….returned immediately…..so disappointed
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
OMG, I love this video. LOVE that you’re “DE-influencing!” I did buy the TF lipliners, and the new lipstick shade West Coast, because I was influenced by @allfeisty ! (Dang you, Boston! 😅 I’m just teasing you Jennifer! Love your content!)
I can afford it, but still feel I should not be spending like this as I didn’t get anything particularly special from them really! Maybe because I don’t have dry skin tho. They’re fine but as you said, prob not worth the price! But I’m feeling the way about a lot of things lately!
Love your comparisons and that you’re sharing your thoughts along with less expensive alternatives! Keep up the good work! ❤
Thank you for the feedback!!
I’m amused because my $5 Essence goldi berry blush is a better lilac than the Chanel! Great video, love a good rant!
Thank you dear Sofia❤❤❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I did get 1 Tom Ford lip liner and it is amazing. The price killed me, but I bought my everyday color and will use every drop of it.
The new Hermes in Nappa stayed on all day!
yay!
I haven’t gotten one thing from Hermes that I liked!
I am sorry to hear that :(
I bought the Hermes palette and the two lipsticks.
Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Sofia, Thanks for your honest Review❤ I am also so disappointed by the chanel Palette with the green and Lilac shades. The formula is horrible. Can you please do a Video on your favourite Lipliners?
I share my fave lip liners in this video!
All of the Hermes looks great on you. I'm safe from spending my money tho because none of the Home Depot orange or Lowe's blue look good on me! 😂
Oh that Pink LYXBAGS bag
Totally agreed with you. They are not worthy, not different enough, poor quality 😂
L'Avenue is one of my faves!
Oh dear, I loved the look of that Chanel palette in green and purple
Thank you for not just gushing over all the designer brands… The Tom Ford lip liners are great however it’s almost identical to Charlotte Tilburry however love the TF liquid lipstick and Gucci formulas… I’m kinda disappointed in the TF eye liners… the liquid double sided is the BEST liner ever… the new ones are not better than Hourglass & so much more money. I did grab the Hermes quad .. however my favorite blues are the quad from Cledepeau so pretty! Sorry to ramble just appreciate you! Love&Light from California 🤍🤍
Thanks Sheri!
Wishing you a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘
Thank you Annemarie!
I love the Chanel fall collection . The only problem I have is the difficulty getting it ( especially the nail polish).
I do love the Hermes lipsticks and think they are worth it bc they don’t dry up on my dry lips. The Merit is very nice but does go dry on me. I’m very curious about the Mario and will try that one next.
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for your smart and practical recommendations. I just took a few TF lipsticks and lip pencils out of my cart.😅
Anytime lol!
Those are really good!
I love *yutulu* that on the butterfly bag it says auguri / tanti auguri which means happy birthday
I also got one of the nail polishes ;) (the vert bronze)
I'll look at Prada and others referenced!😮😮😮😮 I'm interested in the TF lip products but for$62.00?😅😅😅😅😂
I’m not sure what happened with the video but it was blurry and I couldn’t alter the view settings 🤔🤷🏼♀️ love all your content 🧚🏽♂️
Wen u did the pass or yass u said u were buying this collection to review 4 us but that never happened
Hey Amanda is this not a review? 😂 I bought the collection...and here is the review... Genuinely confused by your comment
You're an influencer and some of us in the public have the same problem, the problem of buying too much makeup.
I was lucky - I bought 2 TF lip liners at a promotional price (30 euros each) and I'm very happy☺ I wouldn't buy them at full price
I skipped the Chanel collection.. I usually buy the seasonal but this one is not something I would use. I’m hopeful for the holiday collection.
I'm glad you got the Chanel blush just so I could hear you say the word "orange". Ha ha! Loved both looks you did with the collection.
