When a crash occurs that involves a fatality or serious bodily injury, our Special Crash Investigation (SCI) team will respond to conduct a detailed analysis of the scene. This includes a 3D rendering of the area at the time of the crash using forensic mapping equipment from FARO Technologies. This means clearing the roadways quickly and reducing traffic delays when a serious crash occurs.
SCI is responsible for preparing and filing cases related to crashes with the District Attorney's Office for Manslaughter, Intoxication Manslaughter, Criminally Negligent Homicide, Intoxication Assault and Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
