Sandalwood is one of the most expensive woods in the world: One kilogram of Indian sandalwood can cost $200. Its unique, long-lasting aroma makes it extremely sought after. And when that aroma is distilled into oil, a single kilogram can cost $8,000. Today, sandalwood oil is a coveted ingredient for perfumes, soaps, and incense. So what's so special about sandalwood's aroma? And is that why the wood is so expensive?

Pretty sure Santal 33 is made with Australian sandalwood oil, not Mysore Indian sandalwood oil. Either way, it's pennies worth of the sandalwood oil per $289 bottle of fragrance.

Everyone knows It's expensive but there's no buyer here in India,. My plantation is fully matured over three decades but worthless, akin to old demonetized currency notes. It's waste of time, money and energy never ever plant sandalwood tree its a scam, millions of sellers but no single buyer.

You need to be bottling it and selling it online. People all around the world love sandalwood. The more sweet and exotic in smell, the better. I love buying sandalwood, all different types. And luckily, you are producing sandalwood from India, the most 'expensive' and sought after kind. You can sell the oil, the wood chips, and logs. Create your own website. Reach out to whole sale buyers.

Because some people in the Indian Subcontinent (most people in rural areas) are poor. They have to work with what they have. Still, it questions me why they would use cow dung. Couldn't they have made an herbal soap concoction? I'm just as confused as you are😅
