    He kind of reminds me of master roshi from DBZ.
    I love how the training is in oahu. I was station on mcbh oahu in the marine corps 😎👍

    Awesome pit master. I just realized i tend to throw the bullfighter hook pretty often in sparring with agressive people, leaves them at an angle for kicks. Nice!

    Coach is the 'follow me punch' the same as the 'infantry punch'?

    I noticed you do a lot of punching combinations, I also study American Kenpo, but we don’t do nearly as much punches combos. Is Hawaiian kenpo much different than Ed Parker’s American Kenpo?

      Yeah it’s a much more simple version. He removed I think 90% of what he used to do with Kenpo at a younger age. It’s more like kick boxing, so I honestly don’t know why he keeps the name Kempo in there. He also incorporated Brazilian jujitsu as well. He removed all of the original Ed Parker techniques.

    I'M A SOUTHPAW I THROW THE RIGHT HOOK AND THE LEFT REAR HOOK.
    I DON'T HER PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THE REAR HOOK AS MUCH AS THE FRONT HOOK. THE REAR HOOK IS VERY DEVASTATING.
    THE UPERCUTS IS SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO LEARN TOO.
    THE SPINNING BACK-FIST IS A GOOD RECOVERY SHOT IF YOU MISS WITH A HOOK.
    THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEOS I ENJOY THAM

      The rear hook is very devastating, but it takes longer to get there

    Pit Master (bow) I do study traditional karate.. As a brother to a style of Hawaiian Kenpo,,, Kenpo Karate might as well call it Karaho as some sort of early version.. I see and feel a need to progress.. It seems a lot of chow's students done the same thinking overtime... Excuse me if I am not aware of our lineage knowledge as I am not trying to be rude as I well firm you know.. But Tough Luck.. As I see good training in traditional as "ideas of bunkai" I only hold what is good to me as of now from all those lesson... I fight the way I fight or need to fight.... I took 7 years in class just say study/training but I want to evolve this system with Brazilian Jiu Jistu.. My class doesn't forbid other styles or condones ideas.. But it must be the way it was taught and passed down.. I don't know and I am asking doesn't traditional just make you think harder with what is out there that works?? Or is it trying to show this works that doesn't these day.., or how I something works to eventually having personal discover?? Of course I am not talking self-defense if this was what you think I was advertising.. But open mind if you want to discover it.. "Let's go balls".. If traditional has a open mind what is working or other styles shoulded we forget the exercise or what been taught.. I need to know if you think people can learn profoundly in themselves or military way shown a art?? I see many who believe in it but don't place effort.. (bow)

    So is Hawaiian Kempo the exact same thing as Kajukenbo?

    • @ThePitOnlineDojo
      @ThePitOnlineDojo  5 лет назад +6

      Not at all, it was started with kalukenbo, But I took all of the forms out of it... And I added more wrestling, and physical conditioning
