Chino from Deftones has publicly praised Loathe. This whole album is incredible but If you want the next suggestion from them I would go with screaming. It’s called screaming 👍 love the reactions guys!
Mannnn, if you listen to ‘Gored’ off this same album, you wouldn’t BELIEVE it was the same band. This band does it all, explores all avenues of genres, from the heaviest depths to the beautiful ethereal softness. I think y’all would have a good time. Sleep Token are incredible, highly suggest “Higher”, or “High Water”. Those guys are doing something special with metal
Also this Loathe album, “I Let It In and It Took Everything..”, is the best album i’ve ever heard personally. Released in 2020, and have listened every damn week for the last 2 years🔥
LETS GOOO if you ever feel like going back to Loathe in the future definitely react to the song “I Let It In and It Took Everything” it’s their most jarring/versatile song. take your time tho no rush, thanks for the video!
@@marylandstationmusic9422 yeah I second that, we need to know the songs and what you think of them. I love the heavy ones and the slow ones equally. Screaming is so good
Guy on the left is absolutely right about rock. The genre is becoming quite stagnant. But, bands like Loathe and a few others like Spiritbox are bringing an air of freshness
I'm honestly interested in your take on Sleep Token, its in the same-ish realm of new metal songs like Loathe. For first listens, I strongly recommend Alkaline or Jaws. Alkaline is an earworm of a song (that hook gets stuck in your head) but Jaws is more complex and worth it for the drum fills alone. I believe you would like both.
I'm not a general fan of "react" videos - but these dudes (especially the left bloke) knows what the fuck they are speaking about. Genuinely never found a "react" video so legit yet knowledgeable. An actual listen and proper opinion
@@padraigmurphy3540 I’m in the minority about some bands like (and similar to) invent animate and architects. It’s mostly homogenized djenty music that, is impressive, but lacks impact, emotion and purpose for me. That’s why I like ST.
You guys really need to listen to The Contortionist or Leprous. Specifically their songs "Return To Earth", or "The Sky Is Red". Respectively. The greatest album that I've ever heard is "Endorphinia" by Follow The White Rabbit. Their one album came out a decade ago and it's still ahead of it's time. If you wanted to venture off of prog a bit, but still technical and/or interesting, then I'd recommend these bands and songs. Kidcrash - New Ruins Decoder (Lead Hands) - Believers Oceana - Devil Walk God Walk 22 - Call Me Trimtab A Lot Like Birds - Next To Ungodliness Dance Gavin Dance - Prisoner I've got tons more, but if you like those, I can suggest more in the vein of what you like out of these.
You want to check out something new? Loathe was featured on the cover of Metal Hammer magazine at the beginning of 2022 along with 3 other newer bands: Zeal & Ardor, Spiritbox, and Sleep Token. For more Loathe I'd recommend something heavier like "Aggressive Evolution". For Spiritbox I recommend their single "Circle with Me." For Sleep Token I'd recommend "The Offering." Honestly I don't think you'll like Zeal & Ardor, who mix black metal with African-American Spirituals, but if you want to give them a shot check out "Run."
If you guys read this comment, Thornhill is "similar" to the Deftones and Loathe vibe that you seem to like, while still being completely original. The singer got some LUNGS though
Would be cool to see you guys react to a Porcupine Tree song, maybe Hatesong (live version, much better than the studio version and Gavin Harrison doesn't play drums on the studio version) or Anesthetize. Gavin Harrison's drumming is next level and I'd like to see JB react to it :P
Great reaction, i like your breakdown of Deftones influence in Loathe's music. Stuff that's a little different or a little newer? Make Them Suffer-"Doomswitch." He is Legend-"The Prowler" Mudvayne "Deathblooms." I don't think you guys have done any Mudvayne at all yet, and you might like them. Good variety of slower, more emotional songs and faster, heavier stuff.
Love this song. Def thought it was deftones first time I heard it. I’m glad there’s newer bands out there making music like this. I can’t stand the breaking Benjamin and five finger death punch type bands… This song also gives me Balance and Composure vibes. JB would 1000% like Reflection by Balance and Composure
@@marylandstationmusic9422 they broke up in 2017 but reflection is my favorite song from them! You guys should definitely listen to it. I also sent a message on Patreon about it
If you’re thinking that rock hasn’t progressed at all, then you’re just stuck in the wrong pocket of new music. And I’ve been there. Check out King Gizzard and the Lizard or Psychedelic Porn Crumpets from the bubbling Melbourne scene. They are pushing sounds and styles to a whole new level. Check out All Them Witches, Thee Oh Sees, even the last Desert Sessions album from a few years back. There is some seriously NEW exciting sounds coming out of rock that you guys are missing out on (and saying this as an obsessive music lover and musician always looking for something fresh to my ears)
Hey Guys, I reckon you would love Rammstein a German industrial metal band. Start with the song Du Hast or Sonne. Theyre production is really solid and have great riffs
TL;DR Keep it really extra brutal real and you'll keep the ones around that are worth keeping around. Gemini Syndrome has a decent mix of some of the more established bands. Good to see another reaction pop up. Seeing your face when it started I initially thought it was hate or boredom. After a bit I realized it was more that you were absorbed by the song. The honesty, the "extra" and brutal honesty of it is refreshing as well. "Allow me the latitude of completion" Not sure where you two picked that up, but I love that you both acknowledge it as "you're getting on my nerves. Let me say whet I'm gonna say, then we can sort it out." Very Deftones sound to that song. I'll have to check them out as well. Gemini Syndrome "Remember We Die" Would be a good one, imo. Video that goes with the song fits the bill.

I'd go with sad cartoon from the same album

Stigmata, faces in the dark and dance on my skin and heavy iz the head that falls with the weight of a thousand thoughts.
Nice to see Loathe get some attention. Great band. I’d love to see you guys check out the band Thrice and their song The Color of the sky.
I love LOATHE. There's lore behind these lyrics, and the sample in the break down. Great work gents!
Hell yeah! Loathe is one of the best up incoming bands right now! Love them. English metal band too
