  • Today we will be venturing into the abandoned rural parts of fukushima, japan to explore the homes forgotten by the march 11 disaster. inside many items were left behind in these homes as well as lots of cars forgotten. Its important to be respectful and understanding of this event and to leave everything as you found it as we did.

as a victim of the earthquake and tsunami i’m still traumatized i had to abandon my R34 GTR i after 13 years i still can’t get it back i’m currently in Tokyo but plan on coming back to Fukushima also if you’re wondering the radiation can change the color of the surface of metal which is why it’s red

You did a great job under the circumstances...cops cameras...traffic. It really give a good look of the effects left by this disaster than what the news showed. A lot more personal and the people, their homes. Its totally apocalyptic out there like what you'd see if the world ended. Are you sure it was safe spending that much time there? Again...fantastic job man!

My understanding from watching Japanese interviews was that people who evacuated because of the tsunami were not allowed back into the area and those who survived the tsunami were boarded on buses and allowed to take nothing but the clothes that they were wearing, anything they brought was thrown out. One father and his child near the reactor neighborhood was looking for his wife's body when the authorities told him that he either take his son out on the bus or they would be left there without resources such as food and water. Further when they arrived at exchange stations they were instructed to shower and given new clothes to continue their journey on un-contaminated buses.

If this was here in America it would've been completely ransacked of everything of value. Compared to the Japanese We have zero respect for other people and their property.

Weird thought, but it'd be interesting to see if any of these cars would even be able to run again. I'm pretty sure the cars themselves are contaminated, hence why they haven't been taken. But I'm not sure. I think it's the same reason many classic Japanese sports cars were left behind (I think near this area) for the same reason.

Nah, I checked some maps. Currently, the doserates are mostly below 1μSv/h.
Sorry. I am a medical physicist from Germany. 😂 And so... I you stay there for a few hours it will be ok.
For comparison, a flight San Francisco- Frankfurt(M, Germany) will be 140μSv in total, one way. We have here 2μSv/d approximately. Normal radiation.
This mentioned area has 25-30μSv/d. It's a factor of 12 more. Staying there is not good. A few hours are definitely OK. Being aware of the fact the every single photon COULD induce a cancer disease. But ... that's all statistics.

I think they wore suits literally just to make meee feel better cause I am paranoid and comment on like every other video about how I’m worried about their health and safety and that I want them to wear apple airtags and masks and any other ppe they can to stay safe lolll. I’m a paranoid mommy and I think these guys are awesome and I don’t want them getting hurt, sick, or disappeared. This world is wildddd, people are losing their sht all over, you two clearly can do a lot in the future with what you learn from seeing all of this, what will be, forgotten history.

Such a sad situation. There was little or no looting in the aftermath. It would never have occurred to Japanese to steal from a store after a tsunami..much,more respect than theUSA. The earthquake was a 9,the water rose to 50 feet!

Thnx for blurring out the pictures etc. I understand people want to see this and this way it''l be documented so it won't be forgotten and that's good of course. I remember the triple disaster like it happened yesterday. People had simply no time to pack things. They just left, no choice here.
I just hope there won't be more 'explorers' going into the area. There's a trend of 'foreigners' aka youtubers going in there being disrespectful by looting / stealing stuff. I've heard the police are going to patrol more and more because of this. It's a shame to see what some youtubers do to get views. I'm not saying you guys are like this at all. Don't get me wrong. It's more like a warning kind of thing to be really careful . The Japanese police and justice system don't play when it comes to disrespecting the culture.
