I agree sometimes I think of getting a sounder more for knowing exact depth and also to sound the fish up but then I think il end up spending more time looking at the screen then fishing I spend enough time already staring at screen for work.
Great content mate, loving the channel. Just about to get a kayak to start my fishing journey actually so it’s good to see what I’ll be in for soon enough. Any tips on rod sizes and line choices to stay on a big cod ?
Richard spoke about the book Spare as a future historical reference. Just imagine...Kings of England associated with historic events such as the Napoleonic Wars,, the English defeating the Great Spanish Armada, The War of the Roses between the House of York and Lancaster, King Henry VIII meeting with the King of France at the historic Field of the Gold Cloth summit, and then there's Prince Henry being pushed onto a dog bowl and having his necklace broken by his older brother. 😂
Beautiful video, Colby! I love the idea of ‘blind casting’ for big cod, especially when in dams/lakes. Such a challenge, and such a reward for the efforts put in. I fish out of a Jonny boat kayak, then pull up to banks and fish land based. Not easy, I have gone 7-8 sessions, without a touch. Almost ran over a metery , while pulling up to the bank on my last night sesh. But seeing as I’m only 3 hours from Googong, I might have to hit it up next season. Again, too vid
Welcome to the club mate, there’s nothing Betting than getting those big rigs blind casting out of the yak, it proper tests you especially in heavy timber. And yes I’ve lost an iPhone the same way as well haha
Awesome stuff Colby so many learnings again. Curious as to whether you think that having a smaller more subtle presence in the kayak, spooks less fish/ gets you more bites? Although there are plenty of downsides. Also i think there is a modification you can do with your gopro so that hindsight never turns off...
I ditched the kayaks for a ebay blow up boat and motor for $1k have done 5 ocean trips on a tank so far so much better easy to put on roof racks. Is that lake why they call them goodoos ?
Good to see some proper old school cod fishing without using a scope.
Cheers man 👍🏼

It can be a very tough place mate! Persistence will also prevail
Great video legend! 🤙🏻
Thank you 🙌🏼
Epic stuff Colby! I'm keen to try the 9" Irukandji, what size jig head do you recommend for fishing in 2 -6 metres?
Just a 1/2 oz mate!

I think it helps for sure mate! No unnatural sounds with a yak and I’ll have to learn that mod as I’m having trouble with it!

A Meter is something used to monitor stuff, a Metre however...

Nice work mate nah goodoos is the traditional name for Murray cod
I’ve never seen this man catch a fish that’s not a metery
I kayaked for an entire season and didn't catch anything over 70. fml.
