      Do they soften up a little? I have the first gen rituals and they are waayyyy too soft now. I was having a really hard time last season because I couldn’t tighten them enough yet they were cutting off circulation. My season was short so I stuck it out but I’m ready to buy a new set. Tying to decide on the womens Felix or the mens ions.

      @@melaniemcgee6852 All boots do break down over time but unless you have an unusually large foot I would do the Felix. The mens boots are going to have extra room for a traditional male foot and you'll end up with tired and achy feet from extra movement in the boot.

I have found that both Solomon and Ride boots have worked well in the past due the width of those boots. I would very much like to move to the Burton Step on system, but am worried about boot width. Hey guys. Awesome informative video on the new '23 Step Ons.!!
    just a few questions, from a newbie, please!!
    me : 176cm, 95kg, Nike AJ1 shoes US 10 , wide foot,
    1 ) i have flexibility issues - which revolves around me being on the bigger size - this means i find it difficult to sit down and buckle up like traditional boots and binding systems. or for that matter, reaching down to even buckle up, whilst standing.
    also getting the new step ons systems means i dont waste time sitting down and buckling up.....
    thinking of the Photon or Ruler boots /Genesis binding set up.
    2) What boot size, bindings, should i get ?
    3) Also, please recommend a beginner board as well!
    All in, thanks so much for answering my questions! im sure it will help me make better judgement in purchasing a set.

      The boots are pretty true to size so always buy the same size as your regular shoes. You want the tightest fit possible with no wiggle room. ESPECIALLY in a StepOn boot. For boards there really are a lot of good options but check out the Burton Instigator Flat Top 160. Great board to start on but you are not going to outgrow the performance as you start to get better. www.the-house.com/buiftm140013zz-burton-snowboards

Is it meant for a different type of rider compared to the current Felix, which options are best for which type of riding? • @thehouse
      @thehouse  2 года назад

      When it comes to flex in a boot there no right or wrong answer. Traditionally you want a little stiffer boot is more for freeride and softer boot for park (and then mid flex for all mountain) but its ultimately up to the rider and their personal preferences. Mainly with the "soft Felix/Photon people were talking about wanting a little softer boot with the ankle strap so Burton listened. I don't think they are scheduled to release with the 18th drop, but honestly the majority of the sales in those 2 boots are still going to be in the standard flex.

    • @thehouse
      @thehouse  Год назад +1

      Any boots work with any bindings it’s 100% about personal your preferences. As for the boots like Matt said in the video if you have the money for the Ion go for it. It is slightly stiffer than the the Photon but you have total control over the flex and feel of the boot with the 3 lacing zones. The Photo is like a 6.5 and the Ion is around 7.5 but you can loosen that top Speed Zone a bit and make it feel softer and still crank down the snugger strap for heel hold. The Ion and the Kendo are the only boots in the line up that give you that kind of customization in your lacing.

      Fir narrowness probably the Ruler or Swath. For flat feet your best bet would be to have orthotics for your feet for no matter what boot you are riding. Orthotics can make a HUGE difference. It’s really up to you and your personal preferences in flex when it comes to boots and bindings. Softer means a little easier smoother feel, the stiffer they get the quicker responding they are and you have to lean less to flex your board. As for StepOn vs regular bindings it’s up to you. As long as the boots fit you right, the StepOn can be a great option (again depending on your flex preferences)

The main thing is that the X is super quick edge to edge because of the carbon, the slight weight savings is just a happy thing that comes with the carbon

    How does the old 3D boards bolt pattern work with the steps on?

    • @thehouse
      @thehouse  Год назад

      You just need to contact Burton or the retailer you bought the bindings from an they can supply you with the compatible 3D discs

    Step on is it good for park, rails and jumps?

    • @thehouse
      @thehouse  Год назад

      Depends on your binding and boot flex preferences. Most park riders like a little smoother softer feel and the StepOn system is a pretty quick reacting set up so they are not the most popular amongst park riders

    Is there any difference in the x bindings from last year to this year?

    • @thehouse

      Just the colorway.

      What is the colorway? I have not heard that term when talking about the step on x bindings.

      @@mattwulff161 Its an all black colorway that are in the video this year with Jakes favorite blue on a couple of the screws. Last years was black with the white highback.

      Did last years regular and x step on bindings’ size small go up to 8? For 2023 I’m a size 8 in Burton ion step ons and for the first time in the last 15 years I have to go to a size small for bindings (step on x). When I looked at the size small size adjustment notches, the size 7.5 and size 8 is the same notch, and it looks almost like the size 8 imprint was added after the fact.. is the size 8 notch legitimately for size 8or is it actually just 7.5 and the size medium binding, which would have been size 8 upwards in previous years, couldn’t accommodate so the size 8 boots just have to go in size small bindings now? I’m wondering if size 8 boots in step ons are not getting the extra benefit other sizes do for avoiding toe hang with their notches.

    15 min video and you never show how the boots click in or how it is to release them. That's the only thing I wanted to know 😬👎
