  • This video (along with a follow up video #2) will compare the two Escape System Anchor Hooks offered by CMC rope rescue - Both the Flash 2 and Flash G will be compared side by side discussing and demonstrating their similarities and differences. In a second follow-up video I will discuss and demonstrate how each Hook can be used for anchoring to a substantial object as well as be used as a descent control device for victim rescue using what is referred to as the "Byrne Technique".

I have always worried about burning alive. Your videos helped me have more confidence with the knowledge I can be prepared to survive with an escape system. The ladder bailout was good also. Thank you for all your videos and inspiring my confidence.

Dale, what do you use the pull tether for if not connected to the hook? Just got this system issued at my FD and working through tuning it.

I have it connected to the carbiner on the terminal end of my system. The hook is positioned in my pocket to make it easy to deploy, but the terminal carabiner that I use for victim rescue sits lower in my pocket - I attach the tether to it and run the tether over the pocket and under the flap so the tether sticks out, but the carabiner remains in the pocket.
