Treble harshness (especially with budget headphone amps and DACs). I got both 58X's and 6XX's and *if you're treble-sensitive*, there's absolutely no comparison VS the 6XX's oh-so-inoffensive treble. Otherwise, yes, +1, easy recommendation.
The sound depends on the inner resistance of the amp. Is it high you get a little bit more bass, is it low, which I prefer, the bass is a little bit more controlled. It sounds pretty neutral and it doesn't have an emphasis in the treble. Not at all. Good for long time listening. Soundstage is small but well defined. Channel matching is great. It doesn't sound very different compared to the HD 600, except the bass which is slightly more elevated, warmer somehow, and it reaches deeper. The upper mids are a little more laidback compared to the HD 600, but very smooth. A good package.
mine will come later today. it can be a audiophile level headphones for smartphone along with PC38x (yes, I ordered both while PC38x can be used for phone talking)
Amir from audiosciencereview adds just two or three Equalizers (about + 6 dB at 20 Hz and + 4,5 dB at exact 1850 Hz) and bammm! Reference Quality for the Hifiman!
How do they compare to the Hifiman Edition XS? I could get the Edition XS for roughly the same price as the HD 58X. If the Edition XS is better, would you recommend getting a seperate amp for my Audient ID4 MKII interface to drive them or should it work?
Hi, I'm trying to decide between these, the HD 6XX and the HD 560S Do you know how they compare in games? Which has the best soundstage and positional audio?
TBH for gaming I'd look at Beyerdynamic DT880 600 ohm, provided you have an ok amp. Spatial accuracy is not the strength of any of these Senns, but it is for the Beyer.
@@wavetheorysound I would go with them, but unfortunately I live in a humid climate. Which means I can't get anything with leather, as it starts degrading and peeling off fast. And I have had some earphones that claim to have leather earpads but turned out to be some "leatherette spray" which started falling apart within months. I don't suppose there's an alternative with no leather?
yeah i agree the hd58x doesn’t really have any major flaws and is built well and comfortable it’s an easy recommendation
100% the 58x imo kills any headphone in its price range

thank you Man, have hd400se and highly interest in hd58x for twice the price of hd400se
but, with your video, i'll keep my he400se pair with Zen Can
I have he400se and hd58x . They sound different. They both have their own strength imo.

If your 6xx is warmer than your 58x, you got a bad unit.
The 6xx is a brighter and more revealing signature than the 58x, albeit only slightly.
Have you tried removing the foam?
sadly in my country the price is 2x or even 3x the normal price :(
I got my 58X's *and* my 6XX's off eBay.
