The kangaroo is probably the most typical Australian animal found throughout the continent, including Tasmania. There are many species of kangaroos and it is the second largest family of marsupials.
Most kangaroos cannot move their legs independently, so they cannot walk normally, they have to hop. They also can't walk backwards, which causes them big problems if their escape route is blocked.
The grass it feeds on is very tough and chewing it wears down the teeth heavily. Although kangaroos have four pairs of stools on each side, only the front ones are used. If they wear out and fall out, they are replaced by others. Sometimes a kangaroo lives to wear out the last pair. Then they starve to death.
Většina klokanovitých nedovede pohybovat nezávisle svýma nohama, tudíž nemohou normálně chodit, musí poskakovat. Také nemohou chodit pozpátku, což jim přináší velké problémy, je-li před nimi uzavřena úniková cesta.
Tráva, kterou se živí, je velmi tuhá a její žvýkání silně opotřebovává zuby. Ačkoli mají klokani na každé straně čtyři páry stoliček, jen přední jsou využívány. Pokud se opotřebují a vypadnou, jsou nahrazeny dalšími. Občas se klokan dožije toho, že je opotřebován i poslední pár. Tehdy uhynou hladem.

When I was a child, my mother and stepfather (especially my stepfather) wanted to move to Australia permanently.
Fortunately, my mother became pregnant and... my younger brother saved us from living with kangaroos.
My cousin moved permanently to Australia and there she married a Turk. They are happy.

Ahoj Petře. Klokany znám nejenom z obrázků a z videí, ale také tady od nás z hor. Hezkou skupinku klokanů tu má borec nějaký ten rok a daří se jim. Milují jehličnaté větývky a vše zelené. Stejně ale ta Tvoje videa, mi o všech těch zvířátkách co tu máš, mi ten jejich život přibližují tak nějak více reálněji. Viz Pandy. Všechno to už dávno znám, ale tady ve Tvých videích, to je nějak víc. Děláš to prostě moc dobře. Díky.😊👍
