- Watch this official documentary on Kanha Tiger Reserve jointly made by MP Forest Department, MP Tiger Foundation Society and Kanha Tiger Reserve. The Film showcases the history of Kanha Tiger Reserve and chronicles the conservation history of Barasingha. Witness the hard work of our Vanrakshaks, which over the past 7 decades years, helped pull back Barasingha from the brink of extinction and helped Kanha become the shining beacon of conservation.

Other states, especially Odisha should learn from MP on how to conserve forests and it's inhabitants. Kudos to entire fraternity of MP Forest Department for ensuring the survival and recovery of the glorious Barasingha.

@@MrAjayvmr The recent electrocution was in AP. But then Odisha's wildlife is in an extremely deplorable condition. No clues where we are really heading. 😭

i personally believe due to very strong influence of jainism in madhya pradesh,most local villagers (except tribals) are vegetarians and tolerant of wildlife,i observed similar patterns in gujarat and rajasthan too people do not see animals as food ,whereas in odisha or west bengal where majority of humans see animals as food or inferior to humans they indiscriminately kill them or have no qualms about eating them for eg in jharkhand forests are literally empty as locals eat anything from birds to bats

Thanks for a very well made documentary about the Hard-ground Barasinga of Kanha. I was fortunate enough to have seen the initial efforts at their conservation way back in 1975 in the Kanha medows. Somewhat later It was gratifying to see them at Sonf meadows. Keep it up!
