Man I wish I was born where I couldve watched every game in the 1980s. The 80s was the last decade where the NBA was all about team. Golden era of basketball.
The 80's . . Pac Man, Billie Jean , Lakers and Celtics , Air Jordan , Bad Boys, Nintendo , Tube Socks, Eddie Murphy , Run DMC, etc. You can go on and on .
What about Jordan’s run throughout the late 90s. I mean he won 6 out of the 10, does late 90s not count? Ending with spurs and Kobe/shaq/Phil’s Lakers.
I was 3 years old on January 1, 1980. And, I was 13 years old on December 31, 1989. The '80s were great for the NBA. I wish my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa. had a NBA team. I remember when the NBA had 1 preseason game played here in Pittsburgh every year.
How the hell would you know? From three to thirteen you think you actually even paid attention to basketball? Please…. it was barely televised back then, magic and bird literally saved the league in the beginning of the 80s and a big chunk of the players were still coked out in the early 80s
In the 80s I was a young kid and I watched every single celtics game from season 85-92. Broke my heart when Bird quit. But anyways Everytime we played the jazz i knew wed be in for a tough game. Between mosses and Stockton you guys where beasts.
That's because in the 70s the pool of bball talent was divided between 2 leagues. Bringing each other down. Instead of the competition making each other better. As it was between 1980 to 2004 the best era of bbal 25 years.
01:30 Props to Magic of course, but Jazzy Jeff selling Pete Maravich a little short there. He was doing no look passes and showing off at point guard all the way through the 70s.
Lol damn if you start watching at 56 min and wait for when the game ends and the fans storm the court, keep your eyes on Bird. He straight sprints fists out plowing through fans towards...towards...not exactly sure where he was planning on going cause the fans were everywhere
These were great, 80s & 90s. Idk who is charge of nbatv programming but I think they need to shake it up over there. Not enough content like this anymore on ch
the most incredible part of birds steal was that without looking down Bird knew he had to stay on his toes to avoid being out of bounds and when he came out of the huddle after that he looked over at Thomas and winked at him...what a jerk...lol
I've seen NBA 80's and NBA 90's completely uploaded but I haven't been able to find a single scent online of NBA 70's and I want to know if it even exists online
The first Piston championship in 1989 was garbage. The Lakers were on a roll to the Finals undefeated and then Byron Scott was injured before the first game and then Magic pulled his hamstring. How come nobody ever mentions that? They would've never beaten the Lakers at full strength.
I’ve heard; they left Isaiah Thomas off the “Dream Team” because of the Pistons “bad boy” image. So even though he absolutely deserved to go to the Olympics and win the gold with the other superstars he didn’t get picked. Basically they held Isaiah accountable for things that others, especially Lambeer, did. That’s messed up if it’s true!
These professionals talking about the shorts they had to wear in the 80's, badmouthing the hell out of them now. But back then it was the style. All they guys wore that style not just for basketball, but tennis, soccer, track and field, cross country running, the list is endless. And I never heard one bad word about them then. As a matter of fact when the world changed and the short shorts left the scene I didn't like it. I hated those new shorts. One guys says, "I don't think I've ever seen one person block Kareem's sky hook" Wilt Chamberlain blocked it at least one time. But his point is accurate, thousands of sky hooks that were never even close to being blocked by Kareem. And one of the commentators says Buck Williams was the strongest guy in the league at the time and maybe the strongest of all time. Please. Buck Williams couldn't hold a candle to the strength of Wilt Chamberlain.
So world Champion means NBA champion and NBA means National Bas ... why does the NBA not rebrand in WBA? Oh cause there already is WNBA and that will get confusing.

@@patrickkirkham Well the NBA that I saw from 1987 to 1989 was a great era.
When I think of the 80's NBA all I think about is this: Lakers vs Celtics, Magic vs Bird, And a young Air Jordan.
I was today years old when I found this. Thank you.
This is so perfect lol. I would say pink, purple, and turquoise were the defining colors of the 80's
And pastel yellow
kurt rambis, looks like clark kent, rebound like superman and shoots like lois lane . that cracks me up. love kurt rambis
Moses Malone was highly underrated. His career stats were quite impressive.
How highly one thinks of Moses is a defining characteristic of one's basketball knowledge.
