I have an interesting story about this plant that I'd like to share, maybe others will find it entertaining or helpful as well.
I bought this plant before I got the green thumb itch and neglected the hell out of it, it died within a few months. Up until last night I was completely ignorant of its growth habits. I left the pot out on my porch sill for several months through the hot Sacramento summer and the soil became bone dry. Months later I transplanted a basil into the pot and last night I noticed a tiny oxalis sprouting from the soil. I am thoroughly amazed to see it survived and is coming back to life. the plant growls from weird looking tuber or bulb things that look kind of like weird pinecones, in hind sight I recall finding one in the pot when I was digging around to transplant the basil, I honestly thought it looked like a dried up grub worm or something but left it in the pot not thinking twice. Now that I have is new sprout growing, I have come to appreciate and respect the plant for what it is. I really hated the plant after it died because I felt like it was weak and a waste of money, it would always wilt and go limp and die, but it appears that it's much stronger than I thought. I will now be taking great care of this plant and give it the attention it deserves. So that's my story, maybe not too interesting to anybody but I am very happy to have had the experience with it that I did.
    Anyway, thanks for reading.

Thank you for the great information. I've had mine for years. It was my mom's plant. I took it after I lost her. I was determent that I wasn't going to let it die. It has looked very bad a few times, but it always came back. I love this plant.

ik this was 6 years ago but hopefully you can still help me. I’m trying to learn more about them as my grandma just gave me one after i admired hers. She said when it’s night the leaves go down and come back up in the day. I just watered it and she said about 3 tablespoons of water a week. I just watered it and the leaves went down but not the stems so i stopped watering it. after i watched this video it looks like when you move it too much that the leaves go down? i’m not sure if that’s it. i didn’t kill it right😅

I bought 2 bulbs (thingys) on EBay (Australia) for $10 and potted them up. It’s a bit straggly but has produced 8 leaves. (No flowers 💐 yet) Thanks for the info I will keep going with it and hope I eat a nice plant like yours soon.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND HELP. And I found with most plants its way better to somewhat underwater then over doing it. Also THANK YOU for mentioning that when replanting use only a slightly larger pot. post is a lot longer than I thought it would be I wanted to say I'm subscribed to your videos. Thank you again

    🍀 Mine has pink flowers.
Guess it's a different type. I recently got a purple oxalis, and it's doing great as long as I don't forget to water it. Thank you for the info 🙏🙏

love this plant. when I Iearned it was a grass family plant, it made it easier to understand how it grows and it's pretty hardy. I want more of them. I almost threw mine out too when it started to die down but I'm glad I didn't. I'm growing mine under indoor sun lamps.

that was because you moved it too much ! all you need to do is just set it down and it will go right back up

I've had one for many years now.. probably time for new soil again.. but mine has always been very sensitive to watering.. it often keels over after watering, and I have to let it dry to the point of them looking sad again before watering.. probably every other week or so. It has never been big and bushy like your plant tho it has occasionally popped out a flower. It currently only has 5 leaves lol.
