One addition that should be made is when locking out hydraulic and especially pneumatic machinery. Not only do you have to check to ensure the stored energy is disapated, but it is also good practice to have a plan and procedure to ensure energy is not slowly built back up in the event of a bad valve. One method is to lock it out, disepate the stored energy, waiting a designated period of time, and then recheck to see if energy has leaked into the system. Other methods include gauges that allow visual observation, or installing or cutting in check valves with low pressure settings (ex. 1/10 the required pressure to operate the machinery).
Im interpreting a training camp this week and this seriously helped me so much. Idk if im 100% prepared but I sure as hell feel more prepared now than a few days ago. (They didn't provide me with any material to prepare myself)
AFTER A LOCKOUT THERE MAY BE ENERGY? 1. HYDRAULIC: MOVE TAKES OR DRAINS, 2. ELECTRIC: GROUND, MOTORIZED: SPRINGS? THE MACHINE MUST BE ACTIVATED IN THE NON-ENERGIZED EQUIPMENT?
thanks for the sharing information. also along the pipe require to release vua drains syatem for any liquid and venting line any pressure inside of facility prior to maintenance and do repaire activity to get safe.
Got an interview tomorrow and I'm brushing up on things. Thank you.
me too
Same here😊

thank you!
thank you! Be safe ✌🏻
I'm watching this video so I can fall asleep
Me too 😂
to be honest, the best info video I have seen in my 13-year-old journey of being a mechanical engineer. Thank you!

excellent training for anyone working with heavy machinery!
Thank you Amy walters

Very informative.

THE FACILITY MUST HAVE IN WRITING LOCKOUT PROCEDURES AND TRAINING MARKERS?
Thank you so much for your reporting !
Reading about the tragedy at schlitterbahn in 2013 where the company was at fault because they didn’t follow this step after the employee passed. Smh
THERE MAY BE ENERGY IN ELECTRICAL LOCKOUT LIKE ARC FLASHES LIKE AN ELECTRICAL.EXPLOSION FROM CONNECTION WITH OTHER PARTS OF GROUND?
WHEN CONTRACTORS ARE WORKING ON MACHINES THEY SHOULD CHECK WITH SUPERVISORS?
ONCE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT IS OFF IT WILL NOT MOVE?
this is very useful
Thomas Stone, well stated advice!
great video. so educative
HYDRAULIC REQUIRES DOWNSTEAM SWITCHES AND BLIND SPOTS IN THE LINE TO DRAIN DOWNSTREAM?
NEUMATIC DRAIN THE AIR?
AFTER THE STOP OF MOVEMENT THE LOCKOUT TAG AND LOCK IS APPLIED?
THE LOCKOUT TAGOUT EQUIPMENT WILL BE PROVIDED? NOTHING ELSE CAN BE USED?
??
THE TAG SHOULD REMOVED BY THE SAME EMPLOYEE THAT TAGGED THE MACHINE?
Yes
TO KEEP EMPLOYEES FROM REENERGIZING A MACHINE THS,AT IS,BEING REPAIRED IS LOCKOUT?
THAT IS?
GROUPS WORKING ON MACHINES CAN ASSIGN ONE EF MPLOYEE PER GROUP?

Thank you
