National Assembly Moves Bill To Grant INEC Authority To Conduct LG Election

A bill granting the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) the authority to hold local council elections is expected to be passed by the National Assembly.
This was made public by Senator Sunday Karimi, the chairman of the Senate Services Committee, in response to the Supreme Court's ruling prohibiting state governors from withdrawing local council funding from the federation account.
