My headcanon is that Antinous and Telemachus are around the same age, Antinous being just a little bit older than Telemachus (maybe 24-25?) , only because I like a good character antithesis
Hilariously, the suitors are all in their 20s-30s, with some being only days/weeks/months older than Telemachus Also apparently there was one who didn't partake in the bullying iirc, he was just too scared of the leader to protest against it
Actually, don’t get me wrong I like the message, but wolves are killed if they can’t hunt by their pack. Which is why Antinous and the wolf analogy works so well. Both because him and the other men searching for Penelope’s hand and the throne are like a pack of wolves stalking an injured prey, but also because this is Antinous basically forcing Telemachus to prove his worth in a fight. This was also a common feature in Greco-Roman societies, so it’s accurate in multiple levels.
I love how athena is being like a big sister in this. Also Anitonus looks like hes toying with him and not trying that hard but when Telemacus steps up and starts getting hits in i like the surprise on his face before he means bussiness.
Love the Athena design, Antinous being a half dressed guy is also very much in character too, and the way he smiled the entire time was also just "oh yeah, he's about to kill the kid" coded. I also loved how Athena stepped in discretely. Helped Telemachus recover from heavy hits, helped him block, but did not help him attack with the exception of that first hit, that was all him. Any wound he put on Antinous? That was his accomplishment. And bringing the classic "Dark shiluette with white eyes = the monster" from Gigi's animatic was a very cool way to tie this in with the "animatic universe" of EPIC.

I LOVE this new design for Athena! Everybody just makes her the usual Greek woman with that helmet but they never actually incorporate her real identity as a goddess. Mixing her animal with the human silhouette was great and you pulled it off masterfully!

The fact that Antinous is picking a fight with a literal child makes my insides boil. Telemachus looks so young in this animatic, and his inexperience shows. The way Antinous that manhandles him, throwing him around like a rag doll, and there's nothing he can do to fight back is heartbreaking. AND THE EXPRESSIONS. The expressions are top quality. You can see the poorly-constructed brave face that Telemachus puts on in the beginning and how it starts crack, and the sickening pleasure plastered across Antinous' face. And when Athena shows up, and Telemachus delivers an uppercut, the stars in his eyes are so utterly adorable. And the frustration to being beat at the end . . . every little detail in this animatic is beautiful.

In the Odyssey he's also a slimy noble who's probably never seen a real fight and gets killed immediately, not some rugged strong guy like he's portrayed here. The versions don't have anything in common besides their names, position as the leader of the suitors, and enthusiasm to kill Telemachus and marry Penelope. ("Marry" in quotes for the musical one which is a choice. The actual Odyssey one would also NOT openly threaten to assault the queen, that's just a really stupid thing to do if you want her to choose you and everyone to recognize you as a legitimate king.)

1:10 had me cackling! Plus the embarrassed pause right after! This is great. Telemachus is so cute, Antinous is such a monster for raising a hand against that baby face. I also loved the choreography and use of blocks. It really shows that while Athena made it more of a fight, it didn't completely thrust Telemachus into the winning position, making that last hit seem less out of nowhere. This is amazing. Your Athena design is so cool and your style is perfect for capturing how baby my new favorite character is.
I love your design for Athena-- definitely the most distinct! Making her more owl than human is a really inspired choice, especially since the Gods are almost but not q u i t e human like their mortal followers.
Athena seems so soft in her scenes w/Telemachus and I think u rly captured that here! Not allowing him to fall and guiding him throught the fight. I really love the underdog feel of Telemachus here! I like the sorta David vs Goliath look, with the suitor being huge and a brute in comparison with a mucher shorter Telemachus. However, he ends up defending himself due to using strategy (supported by the goddess of wisdom herself!), who in the ends proves to be victorious over brute strenght. I bet Telemachus will feel good when he and his father go on the suitor killing spree LOL
I really like how you didn't just give Telemachus the skill he needed to win, like yeah Athena's there and she's inspiring him, but he still doesn't really know how to fight and is just following her instructions, it makes sense. It also unintentionally makes you not need to draw as many frames, I really like this one, good job.

I love how owl-like Athena is. The bird legs, the feathers, her eyes, the fact her face rests in the shape of a beak. I LOVE IT! Making the gods weird and freaky is so fun.

This is great. Telemachus is so cute, Antinous is such a monster for raising a hand against that baby face. I also loved the choreography and use of blocks. It really shows that while Athena made it more of a fight, it didn't completely thrust Telemachus into the winning position, making that last hit seem less out of nowhere.
This is amazing. Your Athena design is so cool and your style is perfect for capturing how baby my new favorite character is.

Athena seems so soft in her scenes w/Telemachus and I think u rly captured that here! Not allowing him to fall and guiding him throught the fight. I also rly loved Athena's owl features, I don't think I've seen anyone add wings on her human-esque form. It was v cool to see tho! Wonderful job on the animatic! 💙💙💙

I really love the underdog feel of Telemachus here! I like the sorta David vs Goliath look, with the suitor being huge and a brute in comparison with a mucher shorter Telemachus.
However, he ends up defending himself due to using strategy (supported by the goddess of wisdom herself!), who in the ends proves to be victorious over brute strenght. I bet Telemachus will feel good when he and his father go on the suitor killing spree LOL

I really like how you didn't just give Telemachus the skill he needed to win, like yeah Athena's there and she's inspiring him, but he still doesn't really know how to fight and is just following her instructions, it makes sense. It also unintentionally makes you not need to draw as many frames, I really like this one, good job.
Telemachus is so cute!!! I can just imagine how hard it must be for him to deal with all those men who “call him small” and demean him+bully ☹️.
