Loving this, I grow weeping willow trees also, but I’m zone 5 for growing so my yearly temps 106•F to -45• F and I can share , weeping willow wants to dormant, let it freeze that’s when it naturally drops its own branches no longer being used, and new growth comes through extremely quickly
It's a great looking tree ! I've always heard willows are difficult. It hasn't stopped me from trying some from cuttings. It will be interesting to see if the same thing happens.
I have one similar to yours and boy do they keep you working. I also have 7 real nice cuttings i took from a corkscrew willow tree that fell down in my development from the weight of the snow last year. These have instant thick trunks with good bifurcation. I was excited at first but only gonna keep 1/2 of them because they require to much attention to keep them looking decent having that many. Nice work cuz i know what it took to get there. It really does hurt when those branches die off
Thanks Kevin, yea you know how much work it takes for keeping up appearances, do you have a channel of your trees? Be interesting to see other people doing what I'm doing:)
@@gizzygreenfingers no i didn't have a channel at least not yet. Trying to get the courage to start one. I could send pic via email though if you'd like.
Hi, the black stuff you see is fungi that most of the time will kill the branch or foliage it spreads on. If you touch it, you'll spread it and kill more of your tree. Wind will also spread it for you for free. It also means that your tree needs more ventilation and less water retention
Hi Gizzy sad news about the tree whst a shame its a gorgeous tree has well 😔♥️The tree looking sexy you said😂😂 Gizzy i have to ask hows my gorgeous girl Nigella doing?
Hi Nadine yes she's doing okay, tried feeding her 2 days ago and she didn't want to eat it, so I'll try again tonight and see if she's eating, I am worried because she is old 🤔

Thank you, maybe a willow doesn't loose as many branches as a corkscrew Willow 🤷 hopefully it will stop loosing branches 🤞

It’s a constant renewal of twigs/branches and restyling
Yep I guess it will change every year if it survives the winter that is

Thankyou for your insight, it does need a good root prune maybe I'll use more pumice and lava rock, acadama, ✌️

I used a peat based compost, larva rock and acadama ✌️
