'Best news’: Pollster reveals Donald Trump is ‘doing better’ among union members

- Sky News contributor Kosha Gada discusses the “best news” Donald Trump has received in the last two weeks.
Pollster and communication strategist Frank Luntz said Donald Trump is doing better among the average union member than “any Republican has done in decades”.
“The key for him is the working class,” Ms Gada told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“He won them by some remarkable margin ... he lost a little bit of that in 2020 but still had a huge margin and right now, some polls are saying that Kamala Harris has actually really shrunk that margin for him even more and that is the key to his victory.”
I’m a retired school counselor and my wife a retired teacher. We are both lifelong teachers union members and currently retiree chapter members. Our union certainly does not speak for us. We are strong Trump supporters.

The leadership of a lot of these unions are so detached from membership. I recently saw the head of United Auto Workers attacking Trump. For context, the day after Trump’s inauguration there was a flurry of headlines like “Ford succumbs to Trump pressure, will not move jobs to Mexico”. Then when Biden/Harris took office Ford moved those exact same jobs to Mexico. This happened several times with auto-manufacturers in general and if Harris wins there’s an absolute certainty that many more will leave as EV is forced onto the consumer. So the head of UAW is railing against the guy who saved his members jobs and campaigning in favor of the woman who will cost them their jobs. You can’t make it up. The good news is that the UAW members understand this. Unlike their “leader” they aren’t making more than $1M per year. They need those jobs and the head of their union couldn’t care less. That’s why Trump will receive tons of union votes and deservedly so.

I'm glad to see union members are getting smart. In the 80's as flight attendant, I came to realize that the union leaders supported many things I didn't agree with. I also dated a union leader (not airline) who used union funds for pleasure and no business. I came to realize unions were communist in nature. I know unions were necessary in the beginning, but they have become just like the companies they were fighting. I believe that your dues are too high for the benefits they supply. Unions also ensure that non productive workers keep their jobs. Wouldn't be wonderful if workers and employers could together to get the job done and be fair to everyone concerned. The thing a union worker wants most is his job.
Illegal aliens (many claiming PHONY asylum status) waltzing across the Southern border, breaking our laws, and expecting to be handed free housing, food, medical care, education, etc make CHUMPS of those more responsible LEGAL IMMIGRANTS who met with Consular officers at US Embassies in their countries, paid their fees, provided medical, banking, education & police reports etc, wait in line for final adjudication before legally arriving in the USA. Illegal immigration is the biggest issue for me (who worked in Embassies and saw how hard the consular officers worked to evaluate each visa applicant) and many other US Citizens.

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) is a socialist/Marxist organization that is (with the help of the Federal Government) inculcating itself into government bureaucratic organizations and will never support anyone on the center, let alone the right. The National Education Association/American Federation of Teachers (NEA/AFT) are just more unionized bureaucrat positions. Unions that are NOT part of the government, as he described "trades, guys that work with their hands" are not following the Union leadership - except where the Union leadership has broken with the Demoncratic party. We think we Americans can do quite well on our own if the government would just get out of our way. I'd gladly pay $1.50 for a part made in Mexico rather than $0.25 for that same part made in China. We - as a free and non-communist hemisphere need to buy our way out of Chinese debt. At the expense of China. If the Chinese want to overthrow their communist dictators and join the rest of humanity in freedom - we'll welcome them with open arms. I want the Chinese people to prosper, not the CCP.
Bear in mind, my mother was an NEA member and I've benefited from her generous pension when she passed. But she was an educator in the public school system of what is still considered one of the best public school systems in the country. Only two houses down from our house was the head of the Board of Education for that same county. Both my mother and the head of the BOE thought she did a smart thing. I and all of my siblings graduated from a private Catholic High School. Those same Union members knew they could not perform their jobs and recommended that their children be educated in private schools. This is back in the 70's - think about it. It's only gotten worse.
