Since the making of this video, Throne and Liberty already had an update which will adjust the combat system. I don't know all the specifics about it and if it will change the direction for the game drastically but I assume T&L not being in the Top 50 games in Korea gave them motivation 😄
As you know, I'm not that interested in MMORPGs. But Aion was already a game that got me hooked when I played it. Firstly because I was fascinated by the character creation, but I also liked the world itself and the combat system. When I started Aion again years later, it fascinated me and also picked me up as a newbie. The environment was simply beautiful and I also found the story and the characters exciting. You were free right from the start and the tutorial quests weren't as annoying as they often are. I also played Throne and Liberty and the character creation was one of the best I've ever seen! But that was almost the only thing I liked. There's no story at the beginning to pick you up somehow. Even though my playthrough wasn't that long ago, I can hardly remember anything. Something about star shards I think, but I have no idea how I have any significance in the story. With Aion, at least you know you've lost your memory and I love everything about collecting the memories and watching my character be a hero on the one hand then appear as a hero through main and side quests as well. In Throne and Liberty you were thrown into so many small, unskippable quests and you couldn't decide to explore the world first. That just annoyed me and the dialogues didn't catch me either. But the weapon system did pique my interest. The possible combinations alone are simply wonderful and it's great fun to find and perfect your own fighting style. But shortly after that, the tutorial continued in a trivial and, in my opinion, stupid way and robbed me of all interest. I'd love to see AION 2 take a leaf out of the character creation and weapons book, but I think I'd miss the classes too. It would be a good opportunity to introduce more classes or class expansions like Dragons Dogma Mystic Spearhand or Trickster. Do you think such a possibility would be a thing for NC Soft? Last but not least, I completely agree with you about the cosmetic candy, I hate everything about it! OH! And we must never forget how nice it is to collect before the quests in Aion! ARIA FOR PRESIDENT! 🥰
Yea the story and how you are thrown into it is not a great experience for new players. I also never liked these handholding tutorials where you have to follow the tutorial for the first 5 or 10 minutes, it is exhausting. Aion 2 will have a similar weapon system to T&L, this could be positive or negative, I mean I like new inventions but I'm also afraid because it changes a big core mechanic of RPG's and therefore it has a lot of potential to fail. Hopefully crafting and collecting will play a bigger role in the new Aion 2 game! 😄
The thing is, i have almost no hope left, even if AION 2 is good by some miracle, its most likely be focused on PVP, and i only care for PVE, and for sure it will be P2W at some point knowing NCsoft. But even so, a small fragment of me still has hope of someday hearing good things about AION 2 on your channel, soo lets pray.
It is hard to predict anything regarding Aion 2, since the latest official information came in 2022 and since then it has been mostly leaks or mentions from earning reports, for example that they use many more people now for their new flagship title aion 2 which is not using UE4 anymore and instead got upgraded to UE5. But the information we got before all these adjustments was that Aion 2 should focus more on PvE than the first game. If this is still the plan - well nobody knows. However I have some new Info on Aion 2 and I will make a short video about it next week, nothing crazy but some lore, regions and pictures. 😄

best combat is classic BNS before awakening. I still hope that Aion 2 will be similar to BNS.
