Ranking the Final Fantasy Series | The Logos

- In this entry of my "Ranking Final Fantasy" Series, I decided to show appreciation to the logos. I am a massive fan of Yoshitaka Amano's artwork, so let this be a love letter to his craft. This list also includes Final Fantasy XVI.
I don't know what order I would put them in except that 12 would be number 1. I always thought the Gabranth pose in the art was cool, but then Dissidia came out and Gabranth makes that pose in his intro. I still can't get over how fun it was to play Gabranth in Dissidia, so seeing that logo just brings back so many fond memories.
Yeah I remember playing as Gabranth quite a bit too. I think I mained Zidane though.

with XVI released, we now have a full understanding of it’s art. it depicts the clash of eikons but more subtly the tragic fate of the sons of fire.
Love your videos, they are so calm and chill in contrast to the sheer amount of people screaming on youtube. Keep it up

I never really thought about the logos in a critical way, very enjoyable watch! If I were to try and come up with one that I would consider to be the best one I'd try to look at it from a newcomers perspective. Like which logo would make me want to play the game without knowing anything about it. With that as the criteria it would be FF5 since I'm a pretty simple guy. "Whoa a dragon, definitely gotta play that!" Actually, I don't know much of anything about FF12, and looking at that logo peaks my interest so I'd probably rate that high as well, along with 16s since it just looks cool.
That’s a cool way to look at it. I wonder if that has any persuasion for new players.
If I were in charge of those decisions, I would keep the logo as a way to express the soul of each title. I would use the box art more for marketing purposes.
Makes sens for the emperor to take the spotlight in FF2. The absolute unit died, went to hell, took the place of the devil, and came back to the realm of the living just to have a second shot at us

I am surprised how high XVI's logo is to you considering that you hate overly complex logos as you say in the beginning. I actually think the logo is bland and not very engaging or inspired. I actually love both of FFXV's logos personally.
Oh I don’t hate the complex logos. I just typically like the simpler ones more. XVI’s just happens to be one that intrigues me. The dynamic of two summons of the same element fighting each other has my interest.
I do like XV’s logo. The only one I don’t really like is FFVII’s.
Gabranth is a villain
I did address that. I narrowed it down to FFII being the one that highlights THE villain in the game. Gabranth is A villain, but ultimately is redeemed.
