My tragic OTP...
If you have followed my channel for some time you might know that Anidala is my oldest ship. I am not sure if it was my first but it truly feels like it. They are not my number one ship but they will always have a special place in my heart. I made a TCW only tribute of them last year but it was about time I used the movies!
Also this song...I wanted to use this song for a video for I think over three years now! And I finally did it. I finally found a couple worthy of it! So as you can see this project is a very important one for me. I am very happy that this is my first video of 2021, which makes it extra special.
If you know me you might see that I went a bit out of my comfort zone with this and tried a few new things (regarding coloring, overlays and text). I am a person who very slowly changes her editing style because I am very easily overwhelmed by change. But I want to challenge myself this year a bit and because this is partly live-action it felt fitting. Maybe I am just very critical and nobody else will even notice that I did something different...
So back to Anidala. If you follow me on twitter (which I highly recommend because I post about upcoming videos and all my nerdy thoughts almost every day) you know that I just finished reading the Attack of the Clones novelization for the first time. And let me tell you: this book made me ship them even more!!! I mean the book killed me in more than one way (like the additional Anakin and Obi-Wan scenes and lines caused a few emotional breakdowns as well...and don't get me even started on the Shmi chapters...) but the Anidala chapters felt like part of a romance novel and surprisingly happy about that (I am not really a romance reader).
I mentioned under my Obi-Wan and Anakin video that as of late I wasn't a fan of using both live-action and animation in one video. But I grew like it and using their scenes from the movies and from The Clone Wars gave me so many opportunities to show parallels! I have never seen someone use Anakin's line from the deleted scenes "I never had a home" combined with the scene in Clone Wars where he called Padmé's apartment home. When I was watching the episode I had to immediately think about the deleted scene! And with that scene in mind, Padmé's response to his casually statement is even more heartbreaking!
Also can we take a moment to appreciate Cat's voice acting!? I know Matt was never supposed to sound like Hayden so there is really no reason to compare them (because they both did an amazing job and no one will ever change my mind about it and I love all versions of Anakin equally) but Padmé...Cat did soooo good!!! Also James Arnold Taylor's Obi-Wan is perfect buttt that has nothing to do with the video so I am going to stop fangirl about TCW cast because once I am really starting there is no stopping me...

He did kill her. She died because of the betrayal of Anakin. She lost the will to live. There was no point without Anakin. But this scene gets sadder everytime I watch it.

I love seeing Padme and Anakin and their relationship, whether it's in one of the prequels or the animated episodes.

This I feel just shows that under all the clunky dialogue people complain about in the prequels actually gave way to a relationship. This video shows what the relationship truly was that some forget. I always thought they were cute and it was so tragic seeing how it ended.

"Anakin!" A sweet voice called from the hall. "Anakin?" It called again. I looked away from the noon-day sun reflecting off the oceans of Naboo. Suddenly there in front of me was the love of my life, and my very lifeblood, Padame. "Ani? Did you hear me?" I gaped wide-eyed. Here she was. Standing right in front of me. Life, joy, and peace radiated around her. I slowly reached to brush a strand of hair from her face and felt her warm skin on my hand. "Oh...Padame..... I've missed you....." Padame laughed, "Ani? What do you mean? No one has gone anywhere." But before I could answer, Padame grasped my hand and said, "Come, Luke and Leia will be waiting." I didn't try to stop her. She lead me through the place where we had stayed a long time ago, though this time there were children's paintings on the walls, and toys laying about. The sign of a happy and well cared for home. I walked into another balcony where 2 small children were playing on the floor. Once I came into the room, the boy ran to my side, and the girl went into her mother's arms. The boy excitedly said, "Father! Tell me another Jedi story!" I smiled and said, "Luke-- my son..." The girl cut in calling out, "No! Father, tell us about the wars and your padawan!" I smiled and said,"Leia-- my daughter..." Padame interjected saying, "Children, children, father can tell us everything. He won't be going anywhere!" She laughed joyfully and looked deep into my eyes. I caught her gaze, and instantly her joy turned to horror as the happy household melted away, with strangers carrying away our children far away. A new scene of a molten planet surrounded us. I watched as my love confronted an old version of myself. "Anakin, all I want is your love. Come away with me." She pleaded with tears streaking down her face. I watched on as Padame said, "I don't know you anymore... Anakin, you are breaking my heart..... You are going down a path I cannot follow... I love you." I watched devastated as the old Anakin ruthlessly began to choke the life out of Padame. When he finally let her go, she fell to the floor limp and broken. I then was suddenly with Padame as she breathed her last words. She shakily said, "I know... I know there is still good in him..." I fell to the floor hard and placed my hand on hers. Slowly it grew cold. "Oh Padame.... what have I done? What have I become?"
I gasped and bolted upright. Taking slow shaky breaths I recalled my dream which would haunt me forever. "All I want is your love." The words flew like arrows, pricing through my armor. I shook my head and got out of bed. I stared at my saber which had killed thousands. What had I become? Looking into a mirror, I saw the helmet of anger, hate, destruction, death, and evil strapped securely onto my head. Softly I said to myself, "There is nothing I can do. She's gone. I must move on." I moved from the mirror and lit my saber, and went onto another rampage of death. "I love you......" Her words still surge through my mind.

Cool how you blended Prequels with CW! You made it work! It's always hard to do Hayden's voice clips because he talks so lowkey and quiet lol. Their history is beautiful and in the same time its sad because you know how ends and Vader blamed himself for her dead all this years until Luke showed and Vader went in advanture to find him and suddenly found out that after the choke she survived but died after the choke and that he finds out Palpatine lied about the thing that he killed her and founds out that Palpatine killed her
