I can't help crying, my dad loved this song and the movie a lot. He passed away two years ago. Every time I hear this song or if I see the movie on any channel my eyes start to water.
I understand because my situation is similar. My parents had this as a snow globe and I would listen to it when they were bickering and fighting. My dad passed in 2020 when I was 20 years old and now I hear nostalgic things like this and it makes me miss my dad so much.

Imagine turning back time to Titanic ship and at dinner, you sing the song to the people at the ship and they listen you peacfully and you look at their faces, smiles and tears.. they are crying to their own destiny but they will never know that the song belongs to them.. its so sad right? :/

Ppl have been composing how expensive the music box is($400). But I think that’s how much it should cost. Can’t u guys see how well made and intricate it is(im sure some do). Some clocks marked the hours by melodies they are elaborate version of passing strike (making alert of just an hour had passed) and some clocks played melodies in addition with striking the number of hours on bell or gong. Such clocks are elaborate version of counting hours (alert of actual time). Nowadays these types of music-boxes and chiming clocks are electronically imitated by some quartz clocks because they contains electronically recorded and programmed circuit board of sound chips connected to speaker. But they can't beat the real music-boxes and chiming clocks.
What a nice quality Japanese movement. It is even better than the more expensive Swiss Reuge movements because Sankyo has a very quiet and still automatic track switching.
Such things are expensive! I know how to organize the production of such things. It is possible through the transmission several such shafts to make with different sounds and one bass.
if you rewatch it and pay atention to the drum, you'll notice that it shifts in the middle of the song to the side... when this is done new pins will play different music ^^
