Broken string ,broken tooth, flawless performance ! RIP my brother, you're star burned Brite and we will never let it die ! Everyone like subscribe and share and keep SRV current.
Thank you for mentioning his vocals I don't understand when people say " his voice isn't that great but he makes up for it in his guitar playing " there's a reason why he was inducted into The Austin Music Hall Of Fame, The Blues Hall Of Fame, 6 Grammys, 10 Austin Music Awards, 5 W. C. Handy Awards, Entertainer Of The Year, Instermental Of The Year and inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. He was nominated for 51 Awards and won 21 in the short span of his career, he had an amazing talent all his own and can't be compared to anyone else. Stevie Ray had a style that was all his own and Jimi Hendrix had a different style all his own.. STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN THE ABSOLUTE GOAT
This is my favorite SRV performance. It's one of the great performances ever recorded. Thanks to our lucky stars that this is available for all of us to see now and into the future.
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 THE goat of all goats Guitar change, one-handed, backwards, behind the back, epic speech, with his teeth (and lost a tooth)...dude was THE goat. And maybe part alien. 👽😉
This man is a legend for a reason and I'm SO HAPPY you brought up his vocals!! I've never understood why people don't talk about that more either!!🤷♀️ We all know his guitar skills, but his vocals are equally moving to me. So raw and "real" (for lack of a better term!😉) Love him! Also, I'm glad u did a live performance. YES studio tracks are how we are typically introduced to artists but to me.... NOTHING beats a live performance and this one was insanely perfect!!🤗 Anyone can take a song and make it sound good in the studio.... doing it live is a whole other beast and is where the real magic is!! Just my opinion😌 It's like you said, it's a spiritual thing for them, the music truly comes from their souls so for me.... to get to witness it with our eyes is a gift!! Thanks again for doing a live and love your willingness to explore ALL genres and era's with us!! Great reaction Biz!!😎❤
What a legend gone to soon but I bet he is having the best jam playing music in heaven with all the legends that have left us.. God bless SRV and all the other music gods that have past
The guitar he chaned to--the white one--was made for him by a tech who died. He is the person the song is dedicated to, so using that guitar was appropriate. Some of the words from that song are now on Stevie's grave site. "All the love you passed our way."
I hope you've heard that Stevie couldn't read or write music. He played by ear is why you see him adjusting the strings and amps. Purely natural talent. And we still rave 30+ years later...
Wow BizMan I never thought you would see/experience/react to a performance through my eyes hombre!!!!! The Capital theater is in down town Austin on 6th Street and I was their in attendance!!!! Good on you my friend!!!!! I’m glad you enjoyed it!!!! I saw Stevie soooo many times since Austin was his home town/base with Double Trouble!!!!!! And loosing a cap on his tooth when he was picking the guitar during the performance and not missing a beat was just priceless!!!! What a showman!!!! Thanks for this!!!!! We were blessed here and we knew it!!!! The rest of the world didn’t figure it out until he passed!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!!!! 🎸🎸🎸🥳🥳😎🍸
The little speech he gave that is the way he lived and if you noticed after he played with his teeth he was looking around one the floor is because he chipped a tooth and even mouthed tooth gone
Lived on the Canadian border in Buffalo and as a 17 year old kid was lucky to see him in Toronto at the Elcambo and was blown away. Years and many shows later unfortunately I was front row at a tiny upstate NY venue for Stevie with opener Johnny Winter. What an amazing show two weeks later he was killed and another great one lost. RIP SRV.
Great video man, so glad you checked this out. If you haven't done it already, you gotta see his performance of Lenny live at El Mocambo. In my opinion, it's one of the best instances of guitar playing ever recorded. It's not even his craziest performance technic wise but you can feel the raw emotion he expresses through the guitar very clearly. All the best bro!
You need to check out his album he did with his older brother. It's The Vaughan Brothers and check out the song Tick Tock. The message is awesome and it really highlights his voice
Great reaction & so true...at one with his guitar, love this version Thankyou 🙏 He wrote this in memory of his good friend Charlie Wirtz who had a guitar shop in Dallas in the 70's, working on Stevies guitars in his early days but stayed good friends, he died in 85 i believe...Stevie says at the end "thankyou Charlie"...before finishing the song. Sadly its such a prophetic song & the words "Thanks for all the love you passed our way" from this song are on Stevies grave 😥 The statue dedicated to him is pretty awsome and i hope to visit to pay my respects to such a great soul ❣🙏 RIP SRV
What can give me chills when I watch this is realizing he is, in this song/eulogy, crying out to his friend, Charley, with the guitar Charley made for him, playing the song he wrote for him.
Wow. SRV, Led Zep, AC/DC. You killing it man, three of my all-time favourite artists, possibly my top three. Although it's always sad to lose artists like Stevie too soon, I feel because of the music they left behind, we never really lost them, they're still here with us, still showing us what music can be.
At 10:51 when playing with his teeth he actually lost a tooth. You can see him looking for it on the ground and saying to someone off screen that "its gone" Never missed a beat. What a fucking legend.
Stevie wrote this song for his good friend and guitar guy Charlie who passed away from a heart attack. The reason he changed guitars is the other one was out of tune and the white one was called Charlie and he normally plays that one when he dose this song.
Stevie Ray Vaughan couldn't get his guitar in tune so he switched, he mentions it at the end. One thing I never understood was people complaining Stevie Ray to Jimi Hendrix because Stevie Ray went so beyond anything anyone else could, playing behind his back for 85 percent of songs ( never done before), behind his head, broken string, guitar switch in the middle of a solo, one handed, teeth, no hands just moving the guitar up and down, he even used his elbow in Little Wing. He could do alot in just one song and that's why I just don't understand the comparison. He also had a heart of gold and beautiful soul. STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE GOAT OF ALL GOATS.
He couldn't get the red guitar tuned right so he motioned to his guy off stage to bring him the white guitar and made the switch. Im sure you noticed later he still had to adjust his amp/speakers so they are in tune with his guitar and get everything just right
I am not sure that's accurate. This song was written by Stevie for his friend Charley Wirz who was a mentor and helped Stevie in how he designed his guitars and who died of a heart attack and this white guitar was designed with Stevie and Charley. The white guitar was named Charley after his friend and Stevie always used it with this song. It seems more probable that he realized that he didn't have the guitar he usually used.
@@SueProst agree to disagree, I am aware of that story, but SRV is adjusting the strings on His first guitar before switching it out. I thinks that's what drove the switch

It's my personal favorite of all of Stevie's music, since I think it reflects his own recovery process from addiction and his desire to help others heal. Check it out...live in Austin.
I totally agree about his vocals. I listen to him a lot and in my opinion he's the whole package! That being said, my favorite is Little Wing. No vocals. But that's just because I absolutely get entranced by it.
SRV indeed did often break strings, and his guitar tech was on the spot with the backup. However, this particular time, the guitar that is switched to was made by the man for whom this song is dedicated. Intentional as a tribute
This man had nothing but love in his heart for everyone and I miss him so much I went to one of his concerts in 1987 in Daytona Beach The song Ain’t Gonna Give Up On Love is one of his best performances of this song But you know the whole concert was probably the best concert I’ve ever seen and I have been to so many concerts in my life He had just gotten out of the rehab and he said they had to learn how to play again because he had never played without being hi
He broke a string on the red one. That gets it outta tune a little bit on all the other strings, so switching out is just smart. In the middle of the song like that, without missing a beat, well that’s just amazing! Hahaha

Later, Eric was able to play on Stage with SRV, during a jam secession. Eric then said after his solo, and then hearing SRV'S, playing, Eric walked off stage, he knew he couldn't compete with his skills.!
Written as a tribute to Charlie Wirz, friend, guitar tech, and guitar shop owner. "Angels have waited, for so long. Now they, have their way.... Take your place." I want this video played at my funeral. (And being 69, I assume I won't have to wait too long for the chance to meet Stevie.)
