As a college aged fool who was absolutely smitten with G1 and Beast Wars, I was crushed by the blocky/bricky Armada aesthetic. Now, that original figure looks amazing to me. 🤷🏽♂️. I think we can conclude that pretty much any faithful remake of old toys will have better articulation but mostly serve as an educational tool about changing economic forces, globalism, petroleum, inflation, demands for ever growing corporate profit.
New one is leaps and bounds better. The gimmicks were no justification for lack of posability, especially the Super Mode legs which had absolutely no posabilty due to how the automatic transformation worked. That large gap in the back is also really ugly. Couple things you missed in transforming the new one, though: 1. You had the wheels on the legs in the wrong position in each form. That's why they were supposedly loose in the robot mode. Though, there was a slot up his thigh where they're supposed to tab in, and that's where they go in vehicle mode. There's a tab on his lower leg that'll lock the wheels in robot mode. 2. You missed the long pegs that come out over the knees in Super Mode. You fold them out of tbe lower legs before slotting them into the rest of the leg. Easy to miss, since you can just skip them and transform him just fine. But those also act as supports for the trailer mode so it can stand independent of Prime.
Just wanted to comment that I'm enjoying your reviews because you seem genuinely interested in what you're doing and you have a natural knack for presentation on camera. Subscribed and good luck! Nice cat too!
The OG is a novel relic. But damn does the Legacy version do every single thing better. As it should, it's got modern engineering, posability and cost $90+. It damn well should be good.
Got both, Legacy is more fun being poseable while the original is an actual base mode, makes it a great fun playset compared to the Legacy. Also, the pegs used to hold up the trailer need to be lined up when transforming the super mode instead of folded in.
Great, great side-by-side comparison video! [The special 'Guest Star Appearance' by Sky makes it all the more legendary (like Micron Legend)!] 🤩👍 PS. Wish they kept the Mini-Con/Micron Port-Plug system that could've given new life to so many of our older 'little ones'. 😅
sky lynx if my favorite commander class but this guys tide with jet fire as second place dont have any of them just . I have Rodimus prime witch so not a commander class thats way I got him for 40 bucks off haha . Great review great figure does need a couple of guns to really make the base work still good thank you for sharing
Super mode mouthplate reminds of brave series it’s rare for any transformers characters have their own mouthplate design instead of standard mouthplates
I was looking forward to this review after seeing your Armada Megatron comparison review. Did not disappoint. Awesome work!! Original Armada Prime has a much better and more accurate base mode, with full Mini-Con playset integration. However, Legacy Armada Prime wins in every other category. Poseability in both robot/super modes, more anime accurate colours, removable Matrix, and having an actual transformation. Side Note: Thanks for showing that automated transformation. Been ages since mine worked! Nice to see it still intact and fully operational.
You exaggerate. But I will say with some older toys I either don't remember exactly how to transform them or I modified the transformation because I liked that method better. For new toys, sometimes the instructions suck.
I've never seen this channel before but there's a cat in a Transformers Video and that's about all I needed to know.
The new version look nice, but the old one have some flairs. Especially with the minicon
After the original G2 laser light this was the best prime toy i see in ages

I noticed these same things. Thank you for typing it out for me so I didn’t have to.

As a fan of Armada, seeing the Legacy one is just-
Stunning-
It really feels like Armada Optimus just.. lept right off the screen-
I wonder if anyone didn't notice how inaccurate the base mode is for legacy armada prime.
The Legacy version is leaps and bounds better, but i do miss some of the Armada Prime's gimmicks.

Man i loved armada tots so much but Optimus super mode was just a huge brick. Cant wait to get the new one and add it to my collection
Sky has my vote,hands down.

I'm trying to remember what the button on the right is from (the red and white button on his lapel) Anybody know?
Greatest American Hero
@@ToySpotlite ytb thanks!
If I can find a copy I will definetly purchase one awesome!!!
But for me must better Fans Hobby Optimus Prime Armada super solid and the plastic material thickness.
You do realize even without batteries you can just ratchet the trailer back into alt mode?
Yes, but I wanted to show the motorized transformation.
Legacy one is pretty much perfect.
Super mode mouthplate reminds of brave series it’s rare for any transformers characters have their own mouthplate design instead of standard mouthplates
It's usually different Optimus who get their unique mouth plates.

I remove his butt flap in Super Mode, looks much cleaner imo 🤷🏻♂️
If you need to lock a spread into place there are tools for said job... just saying...
Hi Captain Kyle! vs Hi Skye!
Is the cat included?
Cat not included. See your local shelter to obtain your own cat accessory.
Nice tortoiseshell.
Would you be willing to sell me a few mini-cons?
I just sold a bunch a few months ago at Retro Con. Have to see what I have left.
I don't have the new one buy had the old one hated it with a passion . The legacy wins this and nice to see Sky again 😊
why do you always mistransform the toys ?

@@ToySpotlitetake your time play with the toys 😊
