as a game dev i can tell you that they are not using 100% of the game engine, it’s virtually impossible to use 100% of a game engine. The complexity and variety of features within modern engines are designed to cover a wide range of game types and development needs, making it improbable for any one project to utilize every single tool, feature, or system they offer. Game engines are built to be flexible and adaptable, accommodating everything from indie games to AAA titles across different genres and platforms. However, each game has specific requirements, and developers typically focus on the subset of features that best match their project’s vision and technical goals. Trying to use 100% of an engine would also lead to inefficient development, as some features might not add value or could negatively impact performance if not suited to the game's purpose. Therefore, while you can use a lot of what an engine offers, using everything is neither practical nor necessary.
