Air Force Academy freshman recognition

"Recognition," as it's known to AFA cadets, is an annual tradition that takes place over three days in mid-March, when new recruits get taken to task both physically and mentally.

+Entertaining America It's so that we can easily distinguish these facsimile rubber M16's from real weapons from a distance. The last thing we want is a cadet shot by security forces because he/she was mistook for carrying a live firearm unauthorized around on-base.
