I’m really looking forward to getting some kind of dedicated to stuff to the free world league besides the empire alone source book got a large group that likes to play periphery and more free world C fox centric things and there’s really been a drought for anything significant for us to do from catalyst games so I’m glad to get something on the book that I know is gonna come out in the future. I might end up getting all four boxes just for the modulate I actually rather like the Alpha strike Papercraft terrain it’s great for taking to the game store and I look forward to seeing some hills and particularly mech sized bridges.
I’m excited by all of them, but my favorite will go to Dominions Divided as long as we’re spending some time on the Rasalhague Dominion’s side. I’m guessing the stories will be the civil war + Combine invasion for the Ghost Bear track, and the other track will be Fed Suns players vs Kurita. Good news though, more Kurita mechs coming in plastic following the pattern of the other box set
@@timunderbakke8756 I think it depends upon who they cast as the baddie. If they follow the format of what was shown in this sample, and the baddies are Kurita, we'll get Kurita mechs. If GB, we get GB/ RD mechs, which could have some interesting releases.

That’s the only mutual adversary between both story tracks. 2. Do both GB/RD and Kurita baddies, based on the Fed Suns vs Kurita and the Dominion’s civil war. Either way, some sweet sweet Kurita mechs. I don’t see a way they tell the story solely about the civil war. And let’s be real, they’re not casting Fed Suns as the adversary
Interesting idea. I hope it does well for them. Would like to see this concept spread out to earlier periods and books. A Somerset Strikers one would be popular I'm sure.

I have been playing the BEJEEZUZ out of the limited demo "ai" aces deck that came out in one of the kickstarter updates earlier in the year and absolutely loving it. If the content of all the rest of these boxes look "like" this one, i.e. new easy build card terrain for the different biomes, the commander and unit ai cards, all that jazz, i will be buying all of them. coop is about the only way i get anybody to play games of any form anymore, and having that straight up built into the game instead of me having to do the legwork to shoehorn coop into a competitive system is a literal game changer

I’m 100% in for all the Aces box sets. I’m not necessarily a fan of all the factions features or the specifics, but I love the co-op campaign functionality. X-wing Heroes of the Aturi Cluster was big with my gaming group so I’m hoping to use this as a tool to kick off alpha strike in the same group.
They said towards the end of the stream last night that theybwere hoping for a late Q2 release, but couldn't commit to that. So, Q3 is probably more realistic. I am *so* going to pick up 2, maybe even 3 of those boxes, although I suspect that the first production runs will sell out *fast*

Box set 5?: Mercenary campaign with randomly generated contracts/scenarios that can be played in any era.Or at the very least just the cards/basic rule for quick pick up games .I also want to see all that new terrain sold separately like the alpha strike counter pack.
I find it interesting that they are releasing the Howler, which is the Fire Mandrill's totem mech, and the Rifleman C2, which is basically the Project Phoenix rework. You would think they might go with a JF mech or a Clan 2nd line mech in place of the Rifle. As for pricing, I think we are looking at the $30-$50 range, probably 50, due to inclusion of plastic mechs and spiral bound books. We know from cost of forcepacks and previous boxsets that Catalyst likes to charge $6-7 per mech inluded. That is what I am basing my cost estimate on.

I like the idea of the download, just having a scenario book or scenario driven story line is awesome, the ACES booklet looks like the scenario books from Memoir’ 44 and this all coming together is just brilliant, really make ACES scenarios with cards for battles in every era An ACES pack with scenarios and cards to go with a minis set would be cool, like the Word of Blake Celestials force pack getting ACES cards for the G-hawd era battles would be sick! The possibilities are really endless
@@MAKAK47 I think that’s right. Seems like they will extend this outside the box set offerings. Whether that is just unit AI cards in force packs, or something more, not sure. I feel like they are finally taking advantage of the rich backstory and true theme potential here with Aces.
Having never played AS, not liking the Clans, and having no interest in the later Eras I don't think this is for me. Would love to see a review of those turrets though if there's any information available on them.

I will say, even if you are not into the lore that much, this first box set with the Jade Falcon baddies, make general great Clan bad guys for just about anything. (Maybe JF are the goblins of the BattleTech universe? Oh man. Someone is going to come after me in the comments section ... hahaha!)

I wonder if they brought prototype of the wrong rifleman, that looks like a rifleman 8G or a project Phoenix rifleman even the rifleman that they have jumping in the background, does not look like that rifleman in the display
@ the 8X/8G are just my favorite rifleman variants and that looks a lot more like my pewter project phoenix one than than I expected. The clan rifleman mechs used to be more rounded but maybe I’m projecting.

Yeah. It's pretty cool. I've got a feeling this will do well, and maybe as they extend the ruleset to Classic, they might go to older eras.

100% - and I can tell you the design is exceedingly well done based on the work Derksen has done before with heroes of the aturi cluster.

I thought I heard them pricing it at $80 on stream but who knows where it settles. It’s worth it even at that price point to me
