It's not really fair to judge an entire show, and perhaps the cast from the 1980's by the actions of what one "bad player" did 20 years later. Nobody had any possible way of knowing his "dark" side.

But if he did, ok.
Nobody has come forward claiming to have been abused by him.
The creepiest part of this show is that he had access to children and we have no idea what he did to them.
